WHO IS PARIAH?HG131 said:Prototype. WHERE IS THE SEQUEL?!
Though the way games have been working lately, original IP games usually wind up being barely more than proof-of-concept. Look at Assassin's Creed II. Look at Killzone 2. Really I mean, look at Street Fighter II. Sometimes big game companies have to put out a new, ambitious, not-entirely-confident game, let that go through the cultural digestive system, and then put out something else, as if to say "No, THIS is what we were talking about."Canid117 said:I thought that Yahtzee's point was that the industry should be working on more new IP's instead of milking the ones that already exist.
If we're making plans, Prototype is kind of a bummer to do a sequel to. That late-game reveal about who Alex "is" was a pretty killer one, and the story arc ran its course. "Who am I?" "Oh, I'm this guy" "No I'm not." That said, I kind of didn't care about the story. This was a game ABOUT being a bitchin' dude who fights in the air, on buildings and on the ground AT THE SAME TIME.HG131 said:Well one of two things could happen. Alex going after PARIAH or vice versa, but they'd have to depower Alex, which is kinda lame, so perhaps his sister gets turned into something like him (we never saw her after she got hurt), and he has to train her and they both have to deal with PARIAH.JuryNelson said:WHO IS PARIAH?HG131 said:Prototype. I love that game. It was the third most pirated game of its year, so you KNOW people wanted to play it. Plus if they can reinvent Cole McGrath without a jacket, they can let Alex put his hood down. or at least tuck in his shirt.
I hear times have been tough at Radical though. Infamous 2 is scheduled for 2011, so fingers crossed.
OK, in SS2, you're a mute hero in space with a crowbar and someone gives you orders. You do their bidding for a while, then realize they're evil and take them down.RaphaelsRedemption said:Saying Bioshock is the spiritual sequel to SS2 is like saying Pepsi is the spiritual successor to Coke. There's enough room in the world for both of them, but Bioshock is not SS2, and does not deserve the title of System Shock 2's successor.Nickisimo said:Bioshock is really the spiritual sequel to that series(seriously, compare Bioshock with SS2 and it's kind of ridiculous how much is the same).Ezio_fangirl said:System Shock 2. I'm sure as hell SHODAN is still alive, and like glAdoS, she's still alive.
Arcanum never got a sequel, neither did Nox. I wouldn't mind seeing a Trine 2: Trine Harder...ba-dum-tish. Get it? Say it slow and...sigh...I'll go back to my corner.
I didnt know anyone else on this website.I remember randomly getting it when i wasnt completely in to gaming.I really hated the wastelands though. To bad a sequel will probaly never be made.......i love that game.Z of the Na said:I am probably one of the few people that has ever heard of this game, but a thousand times:

I know the possibility of a sequel to this incredible game are slim, seeing as how the original developers were bought by Blizzard shortly after the release. This makes Metal Arms the only game to be developed by Swinging Ape Studios.
I am completely fine with this game the way it is, but I would love to see the game rendered in HD.
I agree that Prototype deserves a sequel, despite the misleading name as Alex Mercer wasn't a prototype of anything. The story definately has room to continue (and yes, we all want to know what happened to PARIAH) and I know plenty of people who would buy a sequel.JuryNelson said:WHO IS PARIAH?HG131 said:Prototype.
