The belief that pay to play MMOs are not a scam to steal money.

The game charges you based on how long you play, and every single element of that game (travel, questing, leveling, gearing, etc) is specifically crafted to make the game take as long as possible. They actually want things like travel and questing to be as inefficient as possible to increase playtime
I disagree. "Scam" is a very specific phrase, and since they're not claiming to be Nigerian royalty (which by the way isn't possible, since Nigeria is a federal republic) or making other fals claims and/or promises, then some other noun would be better.

Holier than thou Non-Smokers.
Talk to me again when you've cut all booze and unhealthy food out of your life.
And even then you're judging people based on a lifestlye choice. How shallow.

Just because you haven't been bothered to find the good stuff, or open your mind sufficiently to enjoy the good stuff, it does not mean that genre has no value.

I got one "I've done X years of martial arts, so I know all about how to win a fight" on the internet. You get it with everything but it pisses me right the f*ck off that every 1/3 people is a 'epic-cage-fighter/ninja-master/special-rambo-forces-marine' and will gladly tell you all about their amazing fighting skills. Over the internet. No-one cares about your Aikido. You are not a samurai.

Probably not fair given I do martial arts as my hobby but I don't use it for bragging rights so claiming my hypocritical right to this. Strangely, not as annoying when it's anything else, if someone claims they're a biology major while arguing against evolution its easy to just laugh it off but this one's the right blend of hard to prove with annoying.

I don't like River Song. I used to (in fact, she used to be my favorite character), but after series 6, I can't believe the actions she took don't cross the Moral Event Horizon. And she got away with it! And no, don't tell me "it doesn't count" because she's in prison; that's for an entirely different reason and she's shown to break out literally any time she feels like it. Apparently disliking River (albeit mostly due to her fans and the way she was handled) is an unforgivable sin in the DW fandom.

Also, I dislike professional sports and the leg up players are given in education, as contrasted with math, science, and the arts (which tend to get cut). Still, that opinion seems to be growing in the mainstream, so I'm not sure that counts.

"DA:O is an awesome rpg!"
no. it's not. it's not even ok, because then i would have finished it. it never was, never will be awesome. in this case, your opinion is simply WRONG - yes, a wrong opinion, that's how not-awesome DA:O is ^^
Bioware, quo vadis? (except for the ME3 ending. woah. holy crap and christ, that was about the most awesome ending i've seen & played in a looong time, toughest choice in a game in years; it even made up for the less-than-optimal pew-pew-parts of the series. and the zero chemistry "romances" ^^)

something quite similar can be said about WoW ^^

How about Arrested Development? Community (before season 3)?
Never seen Arrested Development. I did see like 3 episodes of Community and I didn't really like it. Not because it's bad, just because it's not my sense of humor.

You guys don't have to convince me Walking Dead is good or whatever, by the way. If you enjoy these shows that's just fine. But since this was a thread about unpopular/unacceptable opinions, I thought I would throw mine in there. But it's just that. An opinion.
while I have to disagree with you on Friends, I'd have to say My Name is Earl has lowered the bar to the floor. Walking Dead was bland and forgettable to me

People who say that if I want a good story, I should just read a book instead of watching a film.

>:C

Nope. Gaming deserves good stories too.

I believe just about all modern drama is terrible. That includes Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Dexter.

Must depend where you live. I think Dominos pizza is pretty good and cheap. It's significantly better than Piiza 73.

Anyway, my "unacceptable opinion" is that Bioware makes pretty un-fun games.

I know I shouldn't, but I just cannot accept the idea that anybody defends Apple PCs/laptops over any other brand of PC/laptop. I'm sure everybody here has already heard all the arguments over this subject. I mean,I can understand preferring the OS, but never enough to justify the price difference.

Incest is awesome and anyone who disagrees is wrong.

I know you said opinions, but I just had to get that fact out there.

I personally can't understand how people are so keen on treating their personal opinion as fact.
It seems utterly ridiculous and self centered.

The "Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was a terrible film" brigade.

What really gets me about that - with more or less any other film, it's okay for some people to like it and for others not to, but when it comes to the 4th Indy film no, there seems to be just one acceptable opinion and that's that it's not a very good film.

Yeh, well I though it was actually quite good - I'd even watch it again in fact (and alreayd have, a few times).

For another one, feel free to repeat the above, replacing "Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" with "Deus Ex: Invisible War".

I've got another, but it's one likely to open up a can of worms and could easily fall into the politics and religion trap the OP would like us to avoid, so I'll leave it.

I'm not sure if this is exactly unpopular, but Americans cannot do TV comedy properly. All of their sitcoms are crap. Maybe I've just been spoiled by Father Ted, Spaced etc.

I'm not following, is this YOUR unacceptable opinion or are you quoting an opinion you find unacceptable?

I actually agree with the Bioware sucks thing. None of their games are fun.

Unacceptable opinion of another: That any game that has non interactive cutscenes is not really a video game, and the developers are just being lazy because they should be able to get the same effect across in actual game play.

My unpopular opinion #1: Micheal Crichton was a hack. In particular Jurassic Park was moronic. I felt insulted that he would actually think that I would take such a idiotic storyline seriously. To be fair to the late Mr. Crichton, I too would be a complete hack if it would make me as rich as him. Also, I have only read 6 of his books and I am just assuming the rest are more of the same.

Note: I really like Jurassic Park the movie because it knows its ridiculous and takes advantage of that fact. The book was super serious about everything.
