Skyrim is the most overrated game to exist anywhere and every single fanboy pushed people that would say the same into into the "Its a great game [small]please don't send me billions of hate mail...[/small]" The only thing it had going for it was hype and the same can be said for Mass Effect 3 but the fans of Mass Effect 3 at least say "Well its not perfect but this is what makes it a good game" while Skyrim or Elder Scrolls fans in general go "NOPE, SHUD UP ITS A PERFECT GEM!" without offering a reason.
If you want a list of problems I have with it, here.
- Bards guild quests, after returning their instruments you still have their instruments.
- Dragons clip through the world.
- Dragons fly backwards and then clip through the world.
- Some quests un-achievable or your not able to complete a quest because of a bug.
- Piss easy combat.
- Bland color palette. I'm sticking by this till the end, each area looks so terribly generic and bland and none of it sticks out. The elven town looks like a generic elven town, same goes for the human town. Compare Skyrim to say Kingdoms of Amaluar and you'll get my drift. If your going to go generic then make generic look good.
- RPG breaking things such as being able to eat 90 cheese wheels in a battle without any repercussions.
- NPC's still treat you like a peasant despite being lord of bloody everything.
- Terrible writing.
- Terrible acting.
- To many humans.
and the way they could make it better.
- Release games that are more glitch free.
- Stop making more glitches with patches and properly test patches.
- Make a interesting world to weave a story into, not a story to weave a place into. If you do the latter the place that the story takes place in will not be that interesting.
- Make NPC's notice the player's actions, not that hard.
- Properly test your game.
- Better combat such as a slightly more action game version or a completely different system, right now it might as well be turn based.
Also, anyone who says Bastion or The Binding of Isaac are bad, uninspired and bland looking games need to be punched in the face.

Well you see in your music Fiddy you talk about how many times you've been shot and that should be a clear indication that being a gangsta highly increases the chances of getting shot and I'm pretty sure that most people who get shot, lets say a few hundred thousand every day end up dead or a vegetable. Tell me, how is turning into a vegetable or being dead worth going to be a gangsta for?
Your not real criminals, your just a man who figured out you can rhyme swears with the word ******.

It depends on what they're saying. If they are saying that gameplay is better than they are wrong and can be easily told so. Atmosphere, however, is down to personal preferences and so is harder to argue against. Personally, I find that Fallout 3's more post apocalyptic-y atmosphere was better but also like New Vegas's rebuilt humanity still struggling atmosphere.
My pet peeve is when people say 'IN my humble opinion' because it just means they're going to say something offensive and think that this will somehow make people less offended.
I agree with both of these. Everyone has self-destructive habits, whether it's subconscious or they just don't want to admit it. My friend takes drugs at weekends, but I don't bash him for it, since I occasionally drink myself and eat some form of fast food to cheer me up after a shitty day at school or something. People are entitled to dislike a genre of music because the majority of songs they've heard from it they don't like, but they shouldn't make a blanket statement like "All rap songs are terrible". I'm not a fan of rap by any means, but I like some of Eminem and Kanye West's work. Both are genuinely talented artists. I cannot bring myself to take anyone that backs his/her (factbased) argument with "Well, that's how I feel" seriously.
For example, one of my friends couldn't even imagine that anyone could have consensual sex without having feelings for his/her partner. It frustrated me to no end that her motivation was "Well, that's how I feel" instead of atleast backing it up with a friend or so that agreed with her.
Also. Condemning an entire genre of music, film or books without even having taken the time to explore it... ...but I guess that's already been said.
I find it amusing that so many people are just posting their own opinions...
Anyway.

If you haven't played the game, then I don't care what your opinion is and you shouldn't be spouting off about it. Especially those extra-arrogant people who will get in to arguments with people who liked whatever the game was, because they just can't believe that there are people who don't share their opinion.
If you don't want to support the game because of one thing or another, that's fine. But don't start trying to empirically state that it's a terrible game if you won't even borrow a copy from a friend. Not that it makes a difference, most people who are like that go in with preconceived notions that they'll hate the game anyway, so they make every excuse they can come up with to say it's a bad game.
