"It doesn't matter what you read as long as you do read." Not true. If an adult still isn't capable of appreciating any literature that's deeper than Mills and Boons (also known as Harlequin) novels, then that's a problem.
Please note: I'm not saying that anybody who reads Mills and Boons novels is stupid. What I'm saying is that if that's the deepest you're capable of appreciating, you probably aren't very intelligent.

It doesn't mean one isn't intelligent, it means they aren't interested. I'm willing to bet most writers don't read many scientific literature regarding physics. That doesn't mean they're stupid, just not interested.

OT: Since I'm talking about this anyway, the opinion I cannot accept is the opinion that someone is stupid just because they aren't well read into a subject or something similar. That doesn't make them stupid, it makes them uninterested. Real intelligence is creativity, education is something different.

OT: I'm pretty big into music and the whole 'things have to be underground' thing annoys me. An artist isn't a sell out just because they make money. That's dumb. Some people do sell out, I'm not denying this, a number of bands I've loved have done it but making money doesn't necessarily mean you've sold your soul to a record company, Iron Maiden sure as hell haven't.

*Edit: OP, I work in a pizza shop and we make amazing pizzas. Every now and then I'll hang out with friends who, well, they get stoned a lot. Anyway, they love Dominoes. It makes me a little sad. The pizzas I make at work are so much better.

I personally hate it when someone decides to come onto a forum page devoted to expressing their admiration towards a subject that they don't like and they feel the need to express their irrational hatred towards it. Then when everyone turns on them, they have the nerve to feel that they're being attacked for merely "expressing their personal opinions".
