My Gran was pretty homophobic, as well as a little anti-Semitic (though to be fair that last part was due to her Army posting in Palestine after 1945, around about the time the new Israeli's were pulling some of their worst shit in the region at the time. It wasn't because she was just 'like that')

I think we'll end up being very anti-religion. Treating people who are openly religious as stupid, pushy and bigoted by default without bothering to actually get to know them. Which is a shame. I hate nut-jobs and extremists as much as the next guy, but it saddens me the amount of people who seem to conclude that the concept of religion itself is inherently evil, rather than evil people twisting words to justify themselves.

Yeah, that's impossible. We all know fat people can't take part in a race. :D

(That's a joke, don't flame).
Oh wow I almost wet myself laughing :D

has always been incredibly fond of Islam, which almost puts him ahead of our time).
Now what is that meant to mean?
Some people aren't.

Some people are anti-theist in general and Islam has gotten a bad rap in pop culture and media since about (oh at a rough guess) 12th September 2001 onward.
Yes, but is he saying that we will grow to love Islam in the future? It's worded like that but I don't want to look like I'm putting words in his mouth.
Maybe stop hating is more the vibe that was intended.

I personally think Islam is great, but you know, what ever.
Because a religion that spreads bigotry, homophobia, supported pedophelia, has little to no womens rights, racism and violence is something that people will stop hating/disliking? Not really. Not unless there are some huge fundamental changes within Islam and with the muslims themselves. Maybe they'll get out of the dark ages in the future who knows.
You can take everything you've just accused Islam of being and find plenty of passages in the Bible and the Torah that say exactly the same thing, because all three are collections of different texts across hundreds of years from many many different sources, each having their own interpretations and prejudices. These books will even contradict themselves on plenty of occasions in regards to these issues.

Just as the majority of Christians and Jews are perfectly aware that parts of their Holy scripture are influenced by the environment they were written in and don't have to be followed to the letter, the majority of Muslims realise that just because one small part of the Qu'ran says something, doesn't mean it has to be followed to the letter.

Islam and Muslims don't need to change any more than any other religion or its followers, we all just need to be more aware of context when studying the words of long dead men.

I have one right next to me and it is one of the most disgusting things I have ever read(and dreadfully fucking boring). You are a liar and a islamophile. It's a fascist ideology that is both violent and corrupt too its core. I never claimed they are all like that but the ones who do support said part of islam are not exactly few in number either. They are far from a "small minorty of extremists". And they are stuck in the dark ages mentally. Ive known a few great people who were muslims but their numbers are underwhelming in comparison to the racist, homophobic, anti-semitic violent horde of muslims that are their opposite. Who cry persecution when in fact they are the criminals.
If you think the Quran is that bad then you probably have not really read much of it and are taking lines out of context, you also must have never seen a Christian Bible or a Jewish Torah because they are way more extreme then the Muslim Quran. Also using the word 'anti-Semitic' without knowing what it means makes you look very ignorant please lookup Semitic if you with to keep using the word(heres a hint: ethnic Jews are one of the smaller Semitic groups, most Semitic people are Muslim).
The persecution of jews was non-existant in Sweden until recently. Now it's common practice in the southern muslim occupied parts of Sweden to spit, harass and violently assault jews on the streets with no action from law enforcement or government. Hate to break it to you, it's not the real swedes who commit those atrocities.
If the law enforcement and government is not prosecuting crimes I think that its a problem that goes farther then just Muslims or are you going to claiming that they have taken over the Swedish government?
If thinking like this makes me intolerant? Well then I am intolerant...
Nearly a quarter of the world population is Muslim you should not claim you know what most of them think when you know so little about them.
One final thing to think about most of the worst Genocides where committed by Christians and atheists acting on their ideologies and yet you think Islam is a violent ideology.

Judging by the last four pages, I'm going to take a shot in the dark saying that it'll be religious discrimination.

Were you raised by native americans? Do you know what its like to be raised native american and the troubles that come with it? Will you ever be an emphatic human being?
I have been around them for my entire life, I have tried to be friends with them before, until I started to hate them when I was around 15 or so. Probably at like, gr. 4 I started to try and be friends with one, he decided to come up behind me after school and try to beat me up. In grade fucking four. What the fuck was his problem. Oh well, fuck him them. Try again in grade 6. Ask if this other guy wants to hang out. We get to my place then after an hour he tries to beat me up. What the fuck. Okay, I go to a bible camp a year or two later. Oh look at that, a stupid fucker comes and punches me in the back of the head and gets kicked out but oh look at that me too because I was "In a fight." Later my dad tries to save some scum fucks and they are drunk bastards and throw up on him and then proceed to try to fight him. Daaaaaaamn. Lets see them walking around doing nothing but smoke and try to fucking look all gangster and shit. Oh, lets spray paint some stuff involving "Native Pride" and lets hangout behind the Subway drinking Listerine. Daaaaamn some mighty fine people there. Never seen a single Native that was not a *****. Besides that dude from Deadliest Warrior. That guy was pretty cool.

meh with the way people now use the word 'racism" in a few more generations it will be completely meaningless... the second you say you don't like anything younger people start screaming racism... it's like they stop teaching the definition of "race" in in biology class

I had someone call me a "racist" the other day because I said I didn't like fat people :(
There's a pretty significant fat acceptance movement and some members are actually trying to equate the "oppression of larger peoples" with what happened to African Americans in the past.

I'm pretty sure that fat people weren't enslaved. Not to mention everything else which has happened to, well, all non-white ethnicities.
they probably were enslaved. by mcdonalds. im sorry, i had to, dont flame me.

Well that explains a lot, obviously you've not had a good experience with natives in the least. You dont have to be friends with them, but try to understand they are an angry people and rightfully so. With everything thats happened to them you can hardly blame them. Just try to be the bigger man and at the very least leave them to their misery w/o judgement, Im not asking that you start a campaign for NA empowerment, just try to understand their situation. Neither of us know what its like to be descendants of a massacred, deceived people
I mean, come on. How long will it take for them to get over it? It happened, and we have done stuff to make up for what we did hundreds and hundreds years ago. Such bullshit. And maybe they should be angry, actually angry. Not useless pieces of trash that do nothing for people and only leech off others. I don't understand, at all. What are they doing? They are killing themselves slowly and all we are doing is giving them money. Why are we doing this. Goddamnit. Ugh.

I understand where Kanova is coming from, there are allot of racist Natives especially on the reservations, but I agree that he needs to get over his past experiences because there are also allot of good people. However the Natives that are racist also need to get over their racism and when a Native acts racist they should not expect different treatment them a non-Native that acts racist. Even if it where acceptable for someone to be held accountable for the actions of their ancestors you can't assume that every white person is a descendant of someone who worked to oppress Natives, many of my ancestors where too busy being killed and oppressed by the British to oppress anyone.

OT: I think this thread has proved that our generation's racism is racism.

I do believe he's only there for comical relief.

People my age who don't wear old styles of clothing ironically. I don't like you either, hipsters.

Personally, the current generation we live in is probably the most accepting there has ever been, I don't think that we are likely to have any sort of bias against people in the future. That being said, there are still people out there who are incredibly bigoted that are in our generation, but they will probably be the last of their kind.

Can't speak to bigotry, but I can guess that a "right to sexuality" in terms of fundamental human rights is in our relatively near future. Though, our tendency towards demanding tolerance is one that may have gone a bit too far the other way. As always, South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker beat everyone to it by warning us of impending problems.
