Is it just me or was I the only one that took over the school with a pistol? Ah never mind only read the posts about people dying trying to raid it.

I raid the school near megaton for some starter supplies and an assault rifle.

Same here. Couple of useful skill books in there too and a nuka quantum, yummy.

If you look at the design of the wasteland, the road leading down the hill and through springvale is designed so your eye is lead towards the village, then the school, then the sign pointing to megaton.

Yep, it's designed so that your less likely to wander off into the wasteland and get yourself killed. Of course I somehow managed to remain oblivious to the town and walked in the other direction.

Me too. Megaton just looks like a big hunk of brown something or other from vault 101's scenic overlook.

Yeah, it really is an eyesore. I'll blow it up soon. That will make the area surrounding my base in Springavile look better.

Walked to Megaton and disarmed the bombs for money then walked about my merry way trying to find things to spruce up my house. I kinda wish you could decorate like you could with Morrowind

Go to Craterside Supply in Megaton, it's above the clinic. Moira will have some themes you can buy!

i walked down the road, then i found the sign pointing to megaton. i went in te direction it pointed but couldnt find the bloody place, then i realised that i'd been walking past it for the last 15 minutes. OWNED! lol

I went to Megaton, I needed to know what the city was like and now it's my base of operations lol.

I was pretty awed by the view when I left. Explored around Springvale, listened to the radio and bumped into Silver, then just headed straight to Megaton.

I completely missed Megaton and winded up at the lady that owed someone money. After stealing everything in her house and went to explore the Wasteland. And died shortly after that...

I didn't even know that Megaton was a city at first, it looks like a heap of dirty scrap pieces to me. But after a while I started thinking of it like home...

i ran the wrong way, all the way to merseti train station, changed direction a bit and then on to the minefield...then i died and it loaded me just outside vault 101...then i got pissed off and started playing SR2 when my friend in the party told me where to go...was a pretty stupid move on my part

Hmm when I first exited the vault, my game crashed from a memory leak.

went to the school near megaton then got my hand on what i now think is the best stealth weapon in the game (and my fav weapon all round) .. a hunting rifle .. then stealthed around 1 shotting everyone (sneak attack critical bonus is AWESOME)

I did a play through with a hunting rifle character. Makes the game way easier.

Also the best stealth character is an unarmed ninja.

I prefer using the Perforator from The Pitt, silenced assault rifle. That combined with Chinese Stealth Armour and you can be crouched infront of someone shooting them and they wont be able to detect you. Kinda makes the game too easy really.

After exiting the Vault, and went and gazed upon the ruined landscape from the viewpoint (I believe there was a "scenic view" type sign there?) Then I found out I could no longer get into the Vault, became sad, and headed straight to Megaton, following the quest arrow verbatim and just traversing the landscape, never finding anything more than enemies.

Yeah she has a rough life....so i killed her and nicked her stuff

I went to Megaton and made myself popular by helping everyone out. I then stole everything that wasn't nailed down. Ain't I a stinka?

I decided to go to the only standing house in springvale, Silver's Ranch, and decided to mug her. Took her caps, and then headed off down the road. Once I got under a bridge, a fellow wastelander came running by me, before I got beheaded by a Deathclaw.

Dude, how lucky are you? That wastelander has the schematics for an awesome weapon! <.<


Yes, personally I also took the road down to Springvale and visited Silver, but I promised her to lie to Moriarty about her.

Also took the time to examine one of those Enclave floaty-radio-bots, and headed to Megaton right away due to my promise to Silver... which never got fulfilled, due to the quest being bugged.

After I got out, I had a hard time seeing for a while because the color was so bright.
I eventually found the school and killed the raiders in there. After a bit of looking around I was like "this is as empty as Oblivion..."
More wandering took place and I found the Super Duper Mart and shoot the place up.
