It has been one of the worst ideas ever, how is having your screen looking increasingly fucked up better then a bar that clearly shows how close you are to dying?

Single-Player BOT matches were pretty sweet too. That was the reason I held on to Duke Nukem 3D on the N64crono738 said:This.Shoggoth2588 said:Local Multiplayer/ Split-Screen or rather, the lack there-of. Especially on PS3 titles!
Only real gripe I had about Resistance 2...I miss split-screen deathmatches![]()
Just about! Demon's Souls is a bloody brilliant game, honestly. But yeah, instead of potions you eat some grass... generally, you eat a lot of grass in that game lol.icyneesan said:I believe this happens in Demon SoulsMr. Moonshine said:What if health potions had never been invented? You would die, and the evil villian would be free to rampage around, due to your utter lack of health potions. I think that is enough ranting for now.![]()
I have to add another post for this one. That part of Metro 2033 was a fucking *****. Took me, oh, 5 lives at least to figure out how I might be able to do it - I tried running through fast and I tried staying back and sniping, tried throwing all my grenades... finally pulled out the shotty and blew the stupid ass spawn things up. Still took several tries after I figured that out, and wasted all my damn ammo... but made it. That AI partner is dumber than a sack of nails. Why can't he wait!? Didn't help that I was playing Hardcore difficulty. It wasn't even a hard game at that, except that part and a couple others.gmaverick019 said:agreed on both these.i used to fucking DESPISE getting escort as a map objective online back in the day..the VIP's were horrible =[MiracleOfSound said:Absolutely, I agree.Shards97 said:Once again, I have to say I enjoy these. They add an immersiveness to the game where you feel like you are the character, and that you're helping someone else, instead of constantly just going from place to place slitting up everything around. Don't get me wrong, there are some terrible escort missions, but those typically have to do more with the AI than the mission. As long as the escort either can handle themself as long ass you don't let them get swarmed, or realizes they aren't a combatant and does everything in their power to avoid combat themself, I'm fine with it, the problem lies in non-combatants getting cocky brawler AI.
Problem is 90% of escort missions contain that horrible AI.
Ask anyone who played Metro 2033 was there a part they hated and they'll say protecting the AI partner from the acid blobs.... man that level was awful.
Good escort mission: Hmmm... Dad in Fallout 3, because he's invincible!
I didn't realize those were 'puzzles', good sir... nor do I think they are.Wolfram01 said:OT: Making puzzles super fucking obvious. Whether we're talking Zelda boss fights where they have a huge glowing target and obvious uses for your brand new ability or item, or if we're talking about any given hybrid FPS, let's say BioShock, where they make whatever you need to get glow. Brightly.
The Chronicles Of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay had a similar system if I recall correctly.supertoast099 said:Regenerating life to an extent. Even though I hated the core game, Far Cry 2 at least got something right with the health system. You get four segments in a health bar, and it only regenerates the segment your heath is currently at.

While it may not have started with CoD4, I'm really starting to hate unlocking weapons and other equipment by leveling up. This stuff just needs to go away.
I liked it better when I could just choose which weapon I wanted when I spawned, and didn't have to wait a month or so to gain access to a gun I like. What is the purpose then? Look, I've got my gun that I've been leveling up for, I guess all that time up to now was just a grind to it. Good thing, I certainly wouldn't want to have fun playing this game. And I know it might mean that everyone just chooses weapon A over B, but if everyone is choosing the same weapon, doesn't that just mean there's a balancing issue?
