Now why can't wii owners be allowed to do that? Why lump them with the crowd that buys 'casual games', that have always sold well regardless of console generation and up until now have just not been reported upon as much.

It is blatant stereotyping, and rather insulting, to assume that all Wii owners are like this.

No it's not, it's called seeing a general trend. It happens all the time in business. It why Barbie dolls target girls and violent FPS games target boys. It's just smart business.

...So the best-selling games on the Wii all received positive reviews - except Wii Play, which received mixed ones and was bundled a Wiimote, and Mario Party 8, which was presumably banking on (admittedly disappearing) franchise cred. Doesn't sound too much me like a case of people actually giving a damn about shovelware.

Perhaps it would behoove you to actually check the reviews.

Perhaps it might come as a shock to you that the good games on the list you provided me are pretty much the bread and butter of core gamers. The others listed, which are the domain of casuals, are decent at best. Likewise, I'm pretty sure that crap like Carnival Games, Big Beach Volleyball, and the Imagine! line of games have sold millions of copies on the Wii. If most Wii owners actually cared about quality, they would have picked up copies of the few AAA games that the Wii has, like No More Heroes...but they didn't...

I somewhat agree with the guy. The Wii's target audience probably doesn't know what makes a game good, the same way the average person doesn't know what a good burger is. At the same time I, there have been a few shining gems for the Wii, and just like link670 said, it's potential was wasted. But I can't exactly say that the games for the Xbox 360 and PS3 are better then the game for the Wii (I have a Wii and PC). Halo 3 and Gears of war aren't all that amazing though. I can tell you that Wii music appealed more to me them Gears 2 did.

Bioshock, Mass Effect, Fallout 3, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, Warhawk, GTA IV, Dead Space, Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty: World at War, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Heavenly Sword, Assassin's Creed, Mirror's Edge, etc... There are way more great games for the consoles than there are for the Wii. The Wii has just a few games I would even consider playing.

Well, you completely left out Killzone 2, but anyway. I can accept that your tastes are very different from mine. I loved Bioshock, I want Fallout 3 so damn badly, I loved Uncharted, liked Resistance 2, never played and don't want to play Heavenly Sword, loved Assassin's creed, Warhawk is an online multiplayer online team based shooter that you can download off of PSN or buy in stores, I think COD4 is meh now that I have Killzone 2, I haven't played and don't want to play COD: WaW, I love Dead Space's gameplay and story, I absolutely LOVED Mass Effect, I really want to play LittleBigPlanet, and I like GTA IV. inFamous does look good and interesting. And I will admit I do regret getting a Wii, so your point is still correct. And even though I said dead space was only good for display cases, I would rather play it then Carnival games.

Well I have all of the consols and I have a large number of games for my 360 and ps3 they are both very good. I only have three games for wii: Brawl (suckish) and the only real good games are Twilight princess (which I beat a bazzillion times) and Mario galaxy (still trying to get all the stars) All the other games are a storm of shit. (With the expetion of NMH and Mad World)

Well that basically sums it up but alot of people buy the Wii just for games like Wii Fit and Mii Games. I wouldn't really say it's the McDonalds of game consoles for reaching out to a new audience but they could release more games for the real fans!

The only drawback is that the "food" often takes a bit longer to reach the PC table.
