This government is filled with ridiculous people. I remember watching a debate on the issue of Universal Health Care Reform in the House of Reps (maybe the Senate, didn't watch very long, you'll see why) and the Republican that was against it was holding, no joke, a baby and was saying in a "baby voice"(as in he was speaking what the baby would be saying) "Don't put more taxes on me just for other people's health care." The many people like this in our government and in the country in general are what scare the crap out of me and will take this law completely out of Context and many states will ban them (since it won't be in control of the federal government because this is a state law going up to the court so if ti passes it means the power is in the hands of the state to regulate video games because they're not covered under free speech or expression).bahumat42 said:ok i read your block o text and whilst it has some convincing arguments im fairly certain no member of government wants to drop a revenue stream, or the jobs created from the gaming industry, i fully expect a lot of idiots to rally against it, but i imagine the youth outnumber them hugely, and could easily overturn any ridiculous rules put in place. But maybe your government system is just funky, i have never bothered to look into it because there's too many complex and unessacary layers to it.
I had a good laugh here, which was all that was needed towards the subject matter of this article.Andy Chalk said:The Parents Television Council, a conservative watchdog group dedicated to restoring "responsibility and decency to the entertainment industry,"
I see what you mean but about the no member of government wants to drop a revenue stream, they might not drop it intentionally, but like I said the Television and Film industry have been jealous of the Video Game Industry for quite a while now and would definitely want for video games to be regulated so the money stream from us (since the Industry is more profitable than they are now) will go back to them.bahumat42 said:well now im never moving to the states but i still stand by my statement, its a fairly large industry generating wealth and jobs, i really don't see it being shut down. But whatever i have faith in such things as common sense.
