In my opinion, there would be a lot less illegally parked cars if the police could key illegally parked cars. Although I fully support the tank approach.

It's technically destruction of property, further aggravated because it's done by an on-duty elected official.

But still, I can't possibly condemn any action that has "Because... Fuck You" written over it like this.
I agree that this is completely inappropriate for an elected official. On that note I am not an elected official and I am currently available!

(I wish there was a video of him doing this, preferably with the James Bond theme added to it.)

Enjoy. Sorry but James Bond theme music is nowhere to be found.

I'm sorry, but this douchebag can go fuck himself. You know what you do about increasing parking violations? Increase the fines and tow and hold the car for a week.

You cannot justify medieval shit of this kind in this day and age.
you can if its really funny

Hehe, the guy has style and he has the right idea, but I think he's probably caused more problems for himself with this. He would have had the same impact if they'd parked a car of their own in the road and run over it.

This right here is Renegade Justice. I'd double vote him.

I'd have to say serves them right.

Honestly, most problems in a city could be solved by the mayor running them over with a tank.
I completely agree with this.

*goes to petition that his town invest in a Russian armored vehicle*

Yep, everything in the thread title is the absolute truth.

Arturas Zuokas, 43, took the drastic action after becoming infuriated with motorists parking their luxury cars illegally around the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius.

The flamboyant politician decided to take the novel approach of fighting illegally parked cars by driving over them in a Russian tank.

He said: ?I wanted to send a clear message that people with big and expensive cars can?t park wherever they feel like and ignore the rights of pedestrians and bike riders.

?It shows a lack of respect and won?t be tolerated. Of course, you have to have a sense of humour in my line of work and I thought this would be a way of drawing attention to the fact that the city intends to be proactive in its fight against illegal parking.?

The shocked owner of the Mercedes was photographed exiting a shop to find his German saloon destroyed by the smartly dressed civic leader.

The car was later crushed.
The world needs more politicians like this guy. People who will do something rather than talk about it, and who will do it with tanks!

I wonder how much crushing the car really needed afterwards after having a tank over it?

My god why aren't there more people like this? I'd love to have a mayor like this as it would liven the local news to no end and severely dent the egos of any assholes in the area. A win-win situation in my books.

However I do expect some form of legal repercussion to occur because of this. You can't just drive over someone's multi-thousand dollar car because of some illegal parking. Though I admit the inclusion of a multi-ton armored fighting vehicle may cow anyone with thoughts of suing.

Aside: I hate to nitpick, but technically that's not a tank (AFVs require caterpillar treads to be called as such)
