Party Chat Leaves MW2, Internet Starts Petition. Again.

So you have 6 people in your party, you join a lobby and you're pitted against another 6 randomers...and you can't communicate with your team (entire party) unless you drop out of party chat? I find that very, very hard to believe.

I can understand it if you and members of your party are placed in different teams so that you can't betray your non-party team members in order to help your mates out...but if you're on the same team, then it's just ridiculous.

I'm highly suspicious about this and feel like people are just jumping on anything that is revealed to have changed since COD4 and blowing it out of all proportion.

So, I am taking all "OMG! IW are ruining the game!!" alleged facts with huge mountains of salt and will just see for myself next Tuesday.

If you want to keep your sanity I'd advise everyone else to do the same.

Im not going to sign some stupid internet petition because you can't talk to your friends. You can't tell IW how to make their game, you're going to buy it regardless and no doubt it will be the best thing since sliced bread (if i cared about it the slightest). If you don't want to listen to retards insult you, turn you mic down or mute them. Invite your friend into private chat etc:
And xbox live is a great service and think, without it you wouldn't even be playing COD or any online game for that matter.

I find it ironic that you bear the name of the kind of person I try to avoid talking to. Anyone with alternating capital letters and the words "pro insanity" as they're name are the kind of person I don't want to listen to. I'm elitist when it comes to gamertags, but that's because I'm generally right.

Why should I? I'm not complaining that they didn't put in my favourite gun, or that the box is too colourful. I'm complaining that they're disabling a feature I pay for, and use daily. Imagine if parties disabled all multiplayer modes in any game? MS would fix it in a day. I expect IW to respond to this in some condescending manner, and ignore us, but I'm going down fighting this bullshit decision.

Sorry to burst your bubble there, but it literally is a pop-up saying - "You cannot play while in a party. Leave the party now?" In slightly more words.

You cannot be in any party at all as long as you are in any game modes other than those three.

I have mixed opinions on the subject. As much as this will irritate some I feel that the use of in-game chat gives a definate advantage over those that do not use it. Technically everyone on XBL should have a microphone, but pre-made parties of friends wind up with an advantage over a random Pickup group of players due to the chat, even more than they would otherwise.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the issues here, but I can see it from a lot of differant perspectives.

I'm also not sure, but if your suggesting that you should be able to "avoid" people you don't want to play with on XBL, that's one of the features I feel needs to be killed and killed hard. In theory that abillity exists to avoid people that you find obnoxious and ruin your enjoyment of games, however in reality people tend to use it to avoid players that they don't want to be challenged by. Beat some dude in Street Fighter IV, or Blaz Blue, or Soul Calibur IV, or any one of many games and they can report you for "poor sportsmanship" and put you on an avoid list. A lot of people do it to up their rankings, and I find it annoying when nearly every time I win a match I get a complaint against me.

Yes, fighting games and FPS games are differant, but the point is that XBL uses universal mechanics for everyone involved (at least here) so the same rules that apply to a ranked fighting game, also have to apply to FPS.

Do you not think that judging me by my username is a bit harsh? Trust me, i've had my issues with annoying people on XBL and trust me when i say i am nothing like that. I understand where you're coming from but the game is released in just over a week, do you honestly think they're going to postpone release to fix this problem. I do apologise for my original post, after reading it i realised how stupid i sounded. But you shouldn't judge people by their name/gamertag.

My system has its flaws, namely when I identify people like you as a common idiot mistakenly, but as a defence it works surprisingly well.

Seriously? Because until I have an actual retail box in my hand and that message is on my screen then I won't fully believe that a developer has made such a nonsensical move. They're removing a major feature (and one of the main features of the NXE when it was released last year) of the Live service...

Maybe IW think this will encourage teamwork as you can only talk to your team and no one else in-game.
