Ordinarily I am much more professional than this, but suck it all you assholes who kept ranting on about PC gamers crying. I sympathize with those who have supported the PC cause, but to those who told us to stop crying... karma is a ***** ain't it?

Private Chat only supports a few friends, and is harder to get to than the party screen. Plus, that might be banned as well. Nobody's confirmed that it hasn't.

I agree with this guy.

I don't fully believe it myself yet, but if it is true, it is a kick in the teeth for the people who like talking to friends in game. MS is also partly to blame as they gave IW the option to do this.

Just curious though, what's to stop him playing on PC (I know they've removed decicated servers which is a pretty major dick move) but you can still run vent in the background and chat to your friends? I doubt the situation would be different on PSN (I assume you can chat to friends ingame usually), but I feel I should bring it up just to point out that without Xbox live he'd be playing it on another platform (which IMO is easier because you don't have to deal with buying it, or all the drop outs or the horrendus lag, or the broken matchmaking..yeah OK I'll stop that now, couldn't help myself sorry :S).

Yes it was kind of nice being able to chat with friends back in the day when my xbox 360 was hooked up to the ol' xbox live, but is it really a dealbreaker? I agree that it's stupid, but why can't you play without speaking to your friends? Have you always needed idle chatter while gaming? Ultimately I'm sure you'll get over it. Trying to make it competetive on the console market while desecrating competitive played on the PC by way of removing dedicated servers is beyond odd, but hey, they don't tell me how to do my job soo, whatever?

Very true. When IW appears at my front door, bungs me £200 for my Xbox and XBL Gold account, and I sell it for some reason, then they can do what they want. But until then I pay to talk to my friends, and I pay to play they're game, and no jumped up little gnome at IW is going to stop me from getting a service that I pay for based on their own whims.

EDIT : I live in the middle of nowhere and only a few of my friends are gamers. I know no other gamers near me, I speak to nobody while I play, in a filthy, stuffy, dark little room that I am forced to play in, and being able to speak to my friends on XBL is one of the greatest pleasures I have on the 360. I might as well get over losing the television if that's your stance on it. Or just get over buying a game that limits my gaming experience so much, for no visible reason.

This is why EVERYONE should buy the PC version as not only will it have better controls while selling at a lower price... but I know this game will be cracked wide open so fast it won't even be funny.

And screw Activision if they have a problem with it being cracked, they have our money, cracks would only be to solve the bullshit THEY caused!

I wonder how long it will take to fix the lack of dedicated server support?

If they can keep it enabled for some gametypes (FFA, Merc etc.) then why not ONLY disable it for SnD? That's the only gametype in which Party Chat is an unfair advantage. That makes very little sense to me. When I first heard about this I assumed it was disabled for everything.

And you label yourself as being... well, I won't be rude, but you say that party chat is just for cheaters? I started playing The Ballad Of Gay Tony today, and laughed at a joke in it amongst my friends. Then I played some WaW multiplayer and I continued my conversation with them.

I was soooo cheating by doing that. I was cheating by talking with my friends, all playing a different game? And when I'm playing Single Player in party chat, am I cheating the NPCs in some way?

Or what about Co-Op. I want to play Saints Row 2 Co-Op with a friend in a party of four. Why should I leave the party to talk to the guy, when I can talk to him and my other friends in the party? The same applies to MP, only this time, it's being enforced by people with the power to do something other than make rash generalizations and poorly constructed arguments.

It is rather self-righteous, and actually a bit bitchy, but for a reason this time. I'm not complaining about something petty, or even something in the game at all. I'm complaining because the game makers are literally forcing me to abandon my friendly chats with my friends, for the purpose of stopping a minority of people. we've got something to complain about.

Eh they are just doing their best to make the MP fair and cheat free. It's no big deal, it just helps those of us who want a cheat free game. Granted there is probably a few who actually use party chat while doing some TDM but still if your desperate to be ing 24/7 chatting with friends call them or just stay in party chat and play uno or something.

Hang on, how are they going to implement this? Is the game going to detect a party and then kick everyone out of it? It doesn't make sense, parties are completely seperate from games. Am i missing something here?
