One of the best things about drinking is all the crazy shenanigans you get up to. The stories are always fun to tell when you're out drinking again, ready for more shenanigans.

Partying for me means getting drunk/high, dancing to whatever music is on, getting off/sleeping with anyone I find to be attractive, talking to people I don't talk to enough and then crashing out wherever there's enough space on the floor.

Also drinking gaaames!

Fuck I love partying.

I'm terrible at parties. I get all analytical, then bored, and fall asleep because I have staying awake issues.
That's a very, very bad thing.

What I am asking here, I guess, is what type are you? Have you got a, or even a few, stor(ies)y that is the absolute epitome of your person and way of life?
My "type" would be someone who completely abstains from drinking alcohol. I'm the one who has to drive the drunk people home. Or at least, I would if I went to real parties. I've driven my father home before when he was drunk, if that counts.

END NOTE: Before you refuse to partake, please feel free to discuss anything drinking related in this thread... Including why people would want to drink. I will happily discuss anything with you, even if I am terribly hung over. It just feels like I am alienating a large portion of the userbase by making a thread dedicated to partying, and drinking, as many people here seem to be against it or simply not be fond of it to the point of being abstinent.
What part would you like to discuss about it? I've made my choice in life to stay sober, and I like it that way.

As for why people would want to drink, I've been told it's just to chill out. I've got other ways of doing that, and I don't quite like the negative effects of drinking.

I've had more fun times alone or with a few friends sober than at big parties. I enjoy drinking occasionally, but then I'm good for a few months before I feel like it again. Thankfully my friends don't bother me about it, they know I don't like big gatherings so they realise it's not me being anti-social.

I love me some parties and I love me some booze. I used to get really really drunk and always pass out. Now I tend not to drink THAT much but if its a really good party sometimes I can't help myself. My partying has quieted down a bit only because i've stopped going to parties hosted by a certain group of people who annoy me with their "LETS GET DRUNK AND PARTY" attitude and then when it comes to it they all clock out after one drink. I don't mind people who choose not to drink that's they're business but don't pretend like your a hardcore drinker just to be cool

I rather hang out with a small group of friend rather than go out to a party. I become antisocial when there a lot of people around.
Last year, at college (university), I had more fun talking to drunk people than going out to this huge party.

I'm usually the under-estimated drinker. I don't drink often so whenever I do go drinking most people don't think I can handle my alcohol. It gets rather amusing when they challenge me to a drink off or something and I kick their sorry behinds. I've only been really drunk once, my roommates birthday we were playing beer pong with 100 proof rum and cokes. That was a bad night...

I'm horrible when it comes to parties. I just stick back in the corner, or just find a place to sit and stay there the entire time, often thinking about unrelated things. If I know a few people I may talk to them if they talk to me. If someone comes up to me to talk, I'll talk to them (I'm not horrible at being social, after all) but over all I don't really party.

I don't dance, I don't drink, I'm just laying back watching others do their thing. I'm not much for the big celebrations; I'd rather just talk to a few people or something, but I'm definitly not one for big crowds or the overall atmosphere of a party.
So... Are you drunk? It sounds rather unlikely for you to be that passive in a party-context, if you're drunk. If you are, I'd wager you aren't drunk enough.
Nope, not drunk. I'm passive by nature and I'm not really all the outgoing. I'm just not the partying type.

I wish I liked alcohol more than I do. I enjoy the feeling of being buzzed, but hate the taste of alcohol. I try and get a buzz with beer sometimes, but get too full.

Oh well, I save a lot of money on alcohol.

That sounds awesome. We so need to hang out. There's only like a thousand or so miles between us, no big deal.

Also, this post is really just to say hi. I've noticed you on here for a while and you really are a breath of fresh air for this site. We need more people like you.

I rarely party... Oh wait, that's a lie, I go to rave parties, don't drink too much though, prefer a cold Guinness at the pub, where you can sit down and relax, than some lukewarm piss-tasting lager in the middle of a dancefloor.

There was one party we where at, that turned out a bit... interesting. See, it was being held in this abandoned train tunnel, and the hosts had forgotten some cable or other, so they couldn't place the diesel-powered generator outside... So they put it inside the tunnel.

Cue people fainting, throwing up and whatnot from carbon monoxide poisoning.... And whatever else was being smoked in there.

Luckily, someone alerted the emergency services, and no one was seriously hurt, but by the time the ambulances came, I was long gone, decided that nausea whilst dancing wasn't the most pleasant experience.

I'm more or less a social drinker. But, for the most part, I'm not a partier. I just don't see the appeal in it. Also, when your friends' idea of a good time is to go drinking, it's fun. Although, when it is the only thing they can think of 10, 20, 40 times in a row, it gets monotonous.

When I have the chance, I like to go out and get completely hammered. It's social, you laugh, joke and generally, hilarious things happen that usually wouldn't. Granted, they can also be bad things, but the general consensus is that it's evenful. That's why I drink. Although that's not necessarily everyone's reasoning or experience.

I drink. Someone pukes up and nearly dies? Fine, ambulance, they can deal with it. People need to know there limits.
