Poor religion, it's gone through so much already, and now another crazy guy? I just want to give religion a big hug. :)

...and stab it in its back well manically laughing as the hopes of millions are extinguished and the smell of dead dreams is ever present...

0.o What's the thread about again?

It's a good thing prayer doesn't work.

Although it makes sense - the obscenely overzealous right-wing Americans say that they want 'their' America back, despite the fact that when the United States was first formed, the most important rule was the separation of church and state.

Sad, really.

Wow, we have a president that actually tries to do something, and now peopel wanna kill him... I love my country.
Ho ho ho! It's funny because he really doesn't like his country!

Sorry, you set me up for that one XD

OT: I think it's pathetic, for the aforementioned reason.
same here, i may not really like obama but praying for him to die? thats sick.
sometimes i wonder what bible guys like these are reading.

Is there a license that pastors need to be pastors? Because if there is, this guy should have his revoked. As if enough ignorant fools hadn't come and damaged religion's image enough already, this guy comes out and prays to God- who I'm sure he preaches as kind, loving, and benevolent- to kill our nation's leader. It's okay to disagree with Obama, but REALLY?

Isn't wanting someone dead a bad thing in Religion?
Sure is. Hell, the Bible forbids it even when you have reason to want someone dead, let alone this situation.

UGGGGGHHHHH I sure do "love" it when retards make my religion look like psychopaths. Seriously why would any preacher preach his own political and personal views!? Thats just not right!

Yep. "Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord."

And that's referring to people who have actually wronged you. Not some guy you don't agree with politically.

... I love my state. A state where 2 people bring ASSAULT RIFLES to a presidential town hall AND where a pastor prays for the president's death. If I remember correctly, one of the guys who brought assault rifles goes to that church.

Yeah, for people who brag about wanting government to be very small and have no part in their lives, they sure push hard for government interference on issues like abortion and gay marriage...

And we all know how well prayer works.

Nothing to fear in other words. Let the dude pray, when he starts talking about actual actions then alert the press.
Ooooo. All I have to say to that Is BURN. You just got burned people. BURNed. :D

I think we're reading different books.

*checks book*

Oops, my fault. It just looks like I'm not picking-and-choosing.

Lev.20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Deuteronomy 22:23-24
If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her; Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city.

You ever get that feeling that several negative emotions are warring in you at the same time, but you can't figure which one to express and just sit there, twitching?
I live close to Bob Jones, of course I get that all the time.

On topic, he's just another pastor who takes all the bad things about Christianity and focuses on those. I'm somewhat astounded by the sheer absurdity and hate of it, but not too much for reasons mentioned in the first line of my post.

Hey, there's no need to throw that around. I'm an avid Christian, and you can live however you want for all I care. Don't judge me and my fellows because of one crazy pastor.

Simple question:

Would you rather have 1 Billion people praying for the death of an individual or several religious people hijacking an airliner?

I think it has an obvious answer and is quite telling when thought deeply enough about.

I thought that praying for someones death is agains certain religions laws/rules/principles.

My thoughts are that people shouldn't pay attention to idiots like that.
This is it exactly.
Nevermind that Jesus said to 'love' and 'pray for' your enemies, ruling out any stupid thought of 'holy killing'.
If what the guy is saying is completely against the fundamental principles of a faith (ANY faith), then you know the guy is just using his 'faith' to mask his obvious prejudices and biased partisanship.

So Jest is right: Don't pay attention to idiots like that.
