All it takes is one freaking rotten apple and every one instantly think the whole batch it rotten. Isn't that rather judgmental?

Oh and yes hes insane but hey so are a lot of people unfortunately.

What are your thoughts on this?
Him... Pastor Manning claiming Obama is white, not black because his mother was white (He also claims he wants a color blind nation, go figure!)
And the people coming up with the "Scientific" analysis that obama is 50% white, 44% Arabic, and 6% black (This "Fact" came from a man who drew this analysis after seeing the african government labeled him as Arabic African, because NO one could POSSIBLY be black AND live in an arabic nation!)

makes me lost my little faith in humanity...

Sure is. Hell, the Bible forbids it even when you have reason to want someone dead, let alone this situation.
I think we're reading different books.

*checks book*

Oops, my fault. It just looks like I'm not picking-and-choosing.

Lev.20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Deuteronomy 22:23-24
If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her; Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city.
Oh, because you totally see the overwhelming majority of modern day Bible-following religions endorsing that kind of behavior. We have stonings ALL THE TIME today, right?

If all you know about religions are the verses in some of the books they follow, especially ones whose rules were later mostly over-written by a successive book, don't go waving them around. You're only making a fool out of yourself.

To be honest I don't see why this warrants extra-special attention. He is one priest, in Arizona, who is likely an extremist. This guy belongs to a group of Baptists that I don't know much about at all. That would seem to indicate that they're not very popular. The media is likely holding this up as the classic "OH BOY, SCANDAL TIME" tactic that attracts so many viewers.

Christians with guns are funny. It is antithetical to the entire idea of Christ. What a bunch of assholes. A Pastor hating is also so funny. It is also the opposite of the entire Christ thing. This guy is also a huge racist. He can deny it all he wants, he is most likely secretly in the KKK. I really hope this asshole does something so the Secret Service can shoot his ass dead. That would be awesome. One less dumb racist asshole on this planet.

Is there a license that pastors need to be pastors? Because if there is, this guy should have his revoked. As if enough ignorant fools hadn't come and damaged religion's image enough already, this guy comes out and prays to God- who I'm sure he preaches as kind, loving, and benevolent- to kill our nation's leader. It's okay to disagree with Obama, but REALLY?
Well, if you really screw up, you can get "fired" in layman's terms. But as we've seen, it takes a lot to do that. Even molesting children isn't enough. You have to molest children in at least 3 different parishes.

Well, to be fair, it doesn't say you have to want to kill them. Just that you have to kill them. Kind of like how you don't WANT to cut the foreskin off your penis... but... you kind of have to cut the foreskin off your penis... Damn, I miss my foreskin... that thing was freaking sweet...

I really hate how non-theists only get to see the nutjobs and lunatics. Most religious people are kind, perfectly sane human beings... It's just that nutjobs and lunatics make for better news stories...

I wonder what the news will do when a bunch of nutjob atheists start bombing religious institutions...

What's sad is that these kinds of people can get away with stuff like this because they are just "expressing their religious views." People who call them out on their heinous ideas are "intolerant." Religion is the trump card that ends all debates.

But when a secular humanist says they don't like what Bush is doing in Iraq suddenly its all: "YOU HATE AMERICA SO MUCH WHY DON'T YOU LEAVE COMMIE ****** LOVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111"

Well, I guess they said "fuck loving thy neighbor. We didn't actually read the book anyway, so how do we know it's in there?"

Hell is other people.

Nobody can use the crazy rantings of this American Protestant Pastor as being indicative of religious people or even Christians as a whole, it would be like pointing at Mike Tyson and saying that all sportsmen (and martial artists) want to rape women and bite people's ears off.

Hey, there's no need to throw that around. I'm an avid Christian, and you can live however you want for all I care. Don't judge me and my fellows because of one crazy pastor.
agreed... and it's "THEIR" not "THERE"... 4th grade English ftw...

The actions of this man can't be used to define all Christians. Christianity does not teach this. Christians are not to hate, and we don't pray for people to die. As a pastor, this man should have known better. I'd say this church needs to find a new pastor, and fast. I don't know what he's preaching, but it sure isn't the word of God.

so much for "love thy neighbor as yourself" with this guy. a pastor should not preach this as a sermon and if I would have been there I'd have left the sermon on the spot and maybe even left the church, but would have something to really piss him off before I left

While you may be right there are still lots of people like him in America. I am also sure that he will have lots of followers really quickly. Like I said, Christians with guns that scream hateful things are hypocrites.

Wow, this totally isn't an opportunity for the atheist majority of the escapist to rant on about how religious people all want to go on murderous crusading rampages. Nope . . . not at all.

Strange, how american politic, religion, education AND entertainment often collides and become one and the same :/

Sad really...
