As much as I defend PCs in these forums, the OP is right. Both have their merits in a lot of places. There are plenty of things I see on consoles and think "man, I wish I could do that." but similarly, there are plenty of things I mention about my PC that consoles can't do.

First off I'd like to point that coming out of that giant wall of text I despise everything about you.
Now, I'd like to point out that PC gaming evolves in a more progressive way unlike console gaming which can take 5 years or so to get any upgraded graphics, plus even now most games that come out on both consoles and PC the PC has the better graphics.

Now let's cover controls. In certain kinds of game some people may prefer a controller over key board/mouse. You can plug a controller into your PC but that isn't really a huge victory for the PC, but what I'm going to say next is. With the muse and keyboard a whole new type of game becomes available. Sure, in racing games and shooters/ first person games some may find the game pad preferable, but how do you intend to play Starcraft or Diablo, or MMORPG? really, any game that uses a courser is off limits to consoles.

Now, onto the actual games. As I pointed out we have whole genres worth of games that consoles don't. PC gamers also have the benefit of the modding community and (typically) better online play.

I'm not saying i don't like consoles or even hand held. I do think we can co exist. A good game is a good game on any workable platform i just think that you can't deny that the PC is a superior platform of gaming, but as my friend pointed out "consoles are a more affordable, simpler way to game"

EDIT: i don't know why this posted twice. actually it posted 3 times and one of them i covered up with the little bit about the wii. I apologies about the multiple posts that was in no way intentional. Does any one know how to delete a post?

Also, who cares? Everyone has different opinions and your treating this like your opinion is the only one.
I dunno about you, but even I am leaving this one well alone.

only driving, music (GH and RockBand), Hack&slash, and sports games are good on console. everything else sucks on them when compared unbiasedly.
I think third person shooters and things like GTA seem to work well on consoles... Music games... ok... they can go either way... someone once said at my school "you know how stupid you would look with a plastic guitar sitting in front of a computer?"... well, truth is that you would look at stupid as you do with a plastic guitar sitting in front of a TV...
trust me, the GTA series sucks on console, i have played it on console and computer.

GH looks stupid when you are 6 feet from the TV, its less idiotic in my situation where you are about 12-20 feet from it.

Red Octane actually makes GH controllers for computer? i know they put out GH:Aerosmith for comp but did they put out the controllers? i havent scene those

Let me mention: none of the previous games need super modern hardware to play at 360-level graphics, so that point is moot.
you sir a a liar. my current desktop is only 5 years old i picked it up form a gaming center that was going out of business, but i cannot run any modern game without dropping $600 for more ram (this is DDR1 ram btw so its $50 for just one gig where as DDR2 you can get 2 gigs for the same price, but this requires getting a new motherboard and possible a new processor) i also have a Radion 9600 graphics card and it cannot even support Dawn of War 2 and can barely support Age of Empires 3 when i have maxed out my number of units. so if i can barely run these games then how am i supposed to enjoy these games without constant errors and glitches or even get a chance to enjoy those games. also a user was pointing out that he "needed" a lot of mods for him to enjoy some games. if you cant enjoy the games as is, then why bother playing it?

I take games like Bioshock, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Mass Effect, and the Assassin's Creed series as proof of that.
Err, what? FO3 and Oblivion are way better on PC thanks to modding, the PC version of Mass Effect is better because of the improved controls (hotkeys yay!), and the PC version of Assassin's Creed is better because they added more mission types for the PC version.

That's your proof?

Ehh, perhaps but I was more reffering to the minion control system. Also I hated that blasted time limit in Pikmin 1 so Overlord is at least better in that respect. Also you get to be an evil overlord, which is awesome. I will go agains the PC graphics are uber supierior, because unless you actually have the system that can run that well. It won't be looking that much better anyways. Also as I've said before, mods mean jack to me, and so do a lot of other PC based abilities anyways.
Actually, I was referring to the minion control system as well. It's exactly like pet command functions in Diablo and Titan Quest, although on a larger scale. Pikmin 2 solved every issue with Pikmin, but instituted the most useless Pik ever; white Pikmin.

You can't go against it if it's fact. You can say you don't care, but then that's your opinion, and therefore your argument is null.

Same goes for the "mods mean jack" statement. You have no argument, just an opinion without any facts to back it up. Sit down.

I never had any problems with GTA on console, except getting bored of them... According to XFire, GH3, World Tour, and Aerosmith are on PC... They could do the controllers the same way, just plug them into a USB port...

I said you don't need super-modern hardware, but a video card from 2003-2004 won't cut it. I mean, that card came out before any current-gen consoles did, and you expect it to be able to run a game from 2009? I don't expect my PS2 to read Blu-ray discs and play MGS4. And you must be playing with your settings too high on AoE III. I maxed out everything except for shadows and shaders on an FX5200, which is actually older than your current card if I'm not mistaken.
Plus, DDR1 is really, really slow RAM, and since your motherboard doesn't support DDR2, your processor can't be very good either. You need to be reasonable. By not-super-modern I mean cars from 2006-2007. Which, may I remind you, is when the PS3 came out.
Plus, you bought your computer. Don't do that. Build it, or have it built. You get more performance for less money, and possibly with less hassle and in less time. What's not to love about that?

I suppose the most important thing to remember is that you can't expect to play a 2009 game with a 2005 card.

Sadly your argument is one that has been posted many many times in forums all over the internet.

In the end it's kinda silly to call consoles consoles since they are technically just PC's with the sae hardware and OS's. But that's besides the point, as long as their are consoles and PC's their will be groups who believe their way of gaming is superior to the others.

Now personally, I have to say in my opinion, First Person Shooters, and Real Time Strategy games tend to play better on PC, the mouse allows me to have more freedom in how I aim and the keyboard some more customizable and relaxing ways to move and perform actions other than aiming, looking down the sights, firing and in some games, melee and switching weapons and throwing grenades which I slap on the mouse, Logitech G5 is awesome. I tend to see alot of racing games that work great with a controller, as well as alot of 3rd person games like the GTA series.

Now again it all goes down to the controls and how they work for people some people, the mouse and keyboard work fine, and if there was a way to hook them up to a 360 they'd probably waste everyone with ease, and then there's the other way around, PC games that don't have 360 controller support that if there was some a 360 player would waste PC players. Personally I feel PC controls of mouse and keyboard allow a little more freedom and aren't as cramped as the controller since with mouse and keyboard your hands aren't both smashed and held to one single thing though a controller is nice in how compact it is and how, with the 360 controller at least, it's fairly ergonomic, Playstation controller hasn't changed much. Also I know it's kinda like a whoopty do but the amount of peripherals for gaming for the PC, wheels, joysticks, etc, are almost disgusting but it's awesome, if only they could have some more for XBbox or PS, or a way to use PC peripherals on the consoles.

One thing I do think PC has over 360 though is that you don't have to pay a fee to play the games you own online, I mean sure, it's only 50 bucks but it's still rather cheap of Microsoft don't you think? PC games also have quite a bit more support than console games or at least the PC versions of a game do, if there's a bug or issue in the PC version the team gets up and throws a patch out to fix it, but if there's one on the console version the team tends to be a little reluctant since to update a game for 360, it's almost damn near impossible to get a free one out, since Microsoft set out a nice little rule if a patch or addon is above a certain filesize, the players will be charged for it. I'm not 100% how it works on PS3 but I know it took them a while to fix a rather large bug with Call of Duty 4 and I'm not sure if the patch was free or not.

Now the war between Sony Fanboys and 360 fanboys and the PC Fanboys will rage on and on as long as there is an XBox and a Playstation and PC's, they all have their high points, PC ruled and had a long one getting gaming kicked off, then the XBox had it's trip which is still going and quite strongly with the PC putting along behind it at a steady pace and the Playstation which had a nice good boost out of the gate kept it up nicely as well admittedly ahead of the PC hit a small bump on the road at the PS3 but with some new bits and a nice drop in price is pushing ahead again. They will always be in a race so long as they exist, sadly Nintendo fell face first in a pothole with the Wii and is just sitting there while blinking it's eyes with mud covering it's face staring bluntly at the other three as they tear ahead. They'll all have their shining moments in 1st place and will all have their shining moments in last and their struggling moments in 2nd and 3rd. But I don't see how any of them are superior to any of the others, well except the Wii, I mean, really Nintendo?
