I prefer physical copies anyway... but I think I'll buy it late on the cheap. I have a feeling the gameplay will be even worse than that in Mass Effect 2, considering they felt it was an improvement over the first one and they're convinced this one's even better...

I think I may wait for the inevitable collectors edition/GOTY edition with all the DLC included. I though ME2 was a step down in quality and pretty juvenile compared to the original. I suspect 3 will be even more so. I'll still buy it to finish the story.

Origin prices suck, even more than (non sale) Steam prices. If I can't make myself hold out until then, well I'll get it as a physical copy anyway. Oh, and it will use Origin as will all future EA games. EA isn't going back to Steam.

If you enjoy the games, then just buy it. It really doesn't matter where you get it from.

Plan to get a nice physical copy for the final game in the trilogy. I may also get the collectors edition. I use steam for games that i'm not sure about. The best ones I like to have a physical copy of.

I'm not planning on buying a supposed RPG marketed as a TPS/FPS style game. If you're making an RPG then put the emphasis on the goddamn RPG and story elements rather than focusing on the combat every single time you showcase it.

That would depend on whether or not the retail version requires Origin or not. If it doesn't, and the DRM is the same as ME2 (basic disk check, which I prefer), then I'll happilty get it. If it does require Origin, then it depends - I'll need to do some reasearch into what Origin is like. It should have plenty of feedback by March.

If I don't like my options, I can rent it for Xbox.

I'll probably still buy it, but It's going to be a pain to set up if it requires Origin.

Even if it is on Steam I am going to buy the Mass Effect 3: Collector's Edition from GameStop. The only time I will use Steam is if I can't find the physical copy anywhere.

I'll buy it retail because EA (and by extension, Origin) can suck it. You hear that EA? I actually hate you more than Gamestop! And that's saying something.

Already have my copy pre-ordered at Gamestop, and there is nothing anyone can say to me that will make me change that. I prefer getting my games as discs, with the only things I've actually gotten on Steam being the first Mass Effect(since it's pretty much impossible to find in stores on the PC now and I had to sell my 360 so my original copy of Mass Effect went with it) and TF2 since it was free.

I'm not totally sure how it all works, but if I can import my Shepard from ME/ME2 to the non-steam ME3 then I will have no problem with it. If I can't, I'll cry then get the ps3 version. But I hope not. I've grown quite attached to my Shepard over these past two amazing games. :)
Well I did that between a Steam copy of ME1 to a retail copy of ME2 so I highly doubt it'll be different with ME3.

I think I'd wait until I could get it second hand, just to annoy EA.
How are you gonna get a PC game second hand? No store will sell used PC games.
actually no "major chain" game store sell used pc games....which i wouldnt buy from anyways, the're a rip-off. They sell used games for a couple $'s less than buying it new...now the "mom and pop" game stores are where its at

Probably not, all the Mass Effect games whilst decent ames have always ended up being bought through Steam sales so without them in the sales I doubt i'll get it.

Why would it being on steam make a difference? If I want I can still launch it through steam. I'll always just buy it where it's cheapest.

I live in an area where you get bent over a barrel for bandwidth, so I prefer to get on disc copies when I can. (90gb/month $10/gb for additional bandwidth, and that's the "power user" account) I'm a huge Bioware fan so I'd probably get it if I had to order it on punch cards by the pallet, but that aside Steam has the point in its favor at the moment because I've been forced over the years to add so many things to my account, that it's always installed and quite frequently running already but I still purchase titles from GoG, and have purchased from D2D, Impulse and whatever EAs prior online store was called. I'll go where the games are, I've got no stake in these industry turf wars.
