I'll buy it in any form I can get. I would like to buy it from Steam, though, because retail is a mean mistress here in Argentina.

no. steam or bust for me. there is only 2 reasons i would buy a pc game not on steam:

1) its free (hopefully lol gets on steam but i doubt it)
2) its blizzard (i trust their battle.net)

unfortunately i will break my rule for the old republic, but if i can avoid origin in any way (im buying a retail copy) i will.

i love bioware, and will likely buy mass effect 3 for xbox, but unless it is on steam i wont get it for pc. i wish DA2 was on steam so i could pick it up.

Yes I will buy it (grudgingly). I have used Origin for the Battlefield 3 alpha testing and I really don't like it, I still much prefer steam. Fortunately for Origin the Mass Effect series is terrific and I would be shooting myself in the foot if I do not get the epic conclusion that his ME3!

I'm not totally sure how it all works, but if I can import my Shepard from ME/ME2 to the non-steam ME3 then I will have no problem with it. If I can't, I'll cry then get the ps3 version. But I hope not. I've grown quite attached to my Shepard over these past two amazing games. :)
I don't think anyone said it explicitly, but the save game files (for PC at least) is in
C:\Users\-NAME-\Documents\BioWare

Did Steam like...automatically transfer the save files from ME to ME2? Cause for my physical copies I had to actually search for my save files(You should remember this if you want to download the "perfect" Shepard from the internet or something (thats what i did in the end)).

*Documents or My Documents

I will get ME3 when it goes on sale or if there is a GOTY edition (I hated that ME2 had that VERY IMPORTANT TO STORY DLC...Arrival).

Wasn't there a time when CD games were like $30-$40? I dunno, probably too long ago for anyone to remember...I don't think there were DLCs at that time either come to think of it.

Honestly? No.

But not over any silly "No Steam No Sale" stuff.
Just because im not really interested anyway, and a Steam Sale is about all that might have had a remote chance of swaying me.

Talking about Mass Effect 3... well, I'm a huge fan of the series, if it's an Origin exclusive, then I'll swallow all my dignity just to play the final chapter of Commander Shepard.

Best case scenario, it won't get released for Steam, it still gets a formal retail release without forcing you to use Origin and we're all happy.

I got 1 and 2 from gamestop digital download, so not being bound to Steam can only be a good thing for continuing my carryover Shep.

I'll be buying it for the Xbox 360, but if not I would certainly find some way to get my hands on the game, Origin or not. I would love to finish this damned good trilogy.

I WILL buy it for the PC,from any legal source...Except Origin. I have a VERY bad track record with EA Online. Example: My EA Online account was logged out in the middle of me playing through Operation: FIREWALKER with Zaeed in my party, using the Arc Projector, wearing the Cerberus Combat Armour.

Now,all of that is Cerberus Network DLC. Which is tied to my EA Online account. So,I'm bounced in the middle of combat because the game thinks I don't own the DLC. When I try to log back in,I discover that it,SOMEHOW from the Logon screen, created an entirely new EA Online account for my email. So,my Cerberus Network DLC is now lost forever.

Because of that incident,I now adamantly refuse to use EA Online,or anything related to it. I will, however, play games that have an optional EA Online component. I'll just stay away from EA Online.

So,TL;DR...

I WILL get ME3 for the PC,if not from Steam, then from retail. EA Origin/Online lost my faith.

I would buy it anyway, even if it wasn't on Steam. Don't get me wrong, I like steam a whole bunch but I don't treat it as if it's my friend. Steam is just a program. That's all it is. It's just a bunch of exe files and code. It's very difficult for me to care about a piece of software enough for me to boycott anything not on it. Besides - whether you buy it day one on steam or day one on origin, the price will not be that different. I agree, Steam offers superior discounts but they don't discount things on Day One, and neither does Origin, and since I plan to play the game on Day One of its release, the prices are likely to be the same on either platform.

True, I don't like Origin, but if I have to use it, I will. I don't care about the "Steam V Origin" fight to boycott either.

But as others have pointed out: If I can get it at retail.... I'll get it at retail.

Untill they stop making hard copies of games all together, I'll be buying my games in a case thank you very much. It makes no difference to me wheter or not its on steam. And really, if a game is good, why the heck should this even matter on youre decision to buy a game.

getting it anyway.. doesnt matter if its on steam or not.. if its a game im looking forward to.. im getting it no matter what... how would you else try to explain Diablo 3, SC2 ? :) they arent on steam... so hoooow am i going to get it ?... Buy it online from other retailers ^^ easy as that
It comes down to brand loyalty and trust. Steam is my platform of choice to purchase PC games because I find it easy to use, reliable, and I trust the company that runs it. However, I don't use it exclusively. I trust Blizzard and their Battle.net service as well. It doesn't bother me in the slightest that their games aren't on Steam if I can still get them from a service that, in my opinion at least, is trustworthy.

EA and Origin are a different story. I love Bioware, but I hate EA. I hate their business practices, the way they treat their customers, and the all around smug attitude that oozes out of nearly every press release. I don't trust EA. I don't want to be forced to use a digital download service from a company that I don't trust.

I will absolutely buy a physical copy of ME3, even if it requires an Origin activation. But I will never ever purchase a game directly from Origin unless EA did something to change it's public image enough to inspire me to put my trust in them. But that won't happen.

If it's not on Steam? Yeah, I was planning on getting a collectors edition anyway (when will that be announced in the UK...?)

If it requires Origin, it will be the last Bioware game I ever buy until they see sense and break off from EA.
