I'd get into PC Gaming, but I can't get a big desktop computer, for reasons of price, convenience, what I need the computer itself for, and space. Now when they can create a laptop that can
A: Play current gen games without either risking overheating or the fans being louder than the game.
B: Does not cost so much I can afford a desktop PC AND and console at that price
C: Is able to not just have to be dedicated to gaming so I can keep my class assignments on it and all my notes on it.
D: Is still not a pain in the ass to lug around or take up too much space and
E: Not require me to open up and mod my laptop, thus voiding the warranty
THEN I'll probably end up being a PC Gamer, at least I'll be willing to put up with all the bullshit that comes with it. Until then, I'll be more than happy doing most of my gaming on my PS3 and using my laptop for a couple games, putting up with the occasional lag for TF2 and Minecraft. (Seriously, as much PC Gamers loooooove getting on their high horse and depicting themselves as God's Gift to Gaming, the Pure, Chosen Eilte of our medium, there are just as many gripes for being a PC Gamer as there are for being a Console Gamer. Lord knows the community is one of the biggest gripes...)
I live in a college dorm, and if I do get an apartment, I'll need to share it like the dorm. Between my TV, my mini-fridge, the drawers for my clothes, the microwave, all my books and backpack and a bed, I don't have ROOM for a dedicated desktop gaming PC, high-def monitor, quality speakers, and that's even assuming I just get a cheap piece-o-crap keyboard, mouse and headset. I can at least fit a PS3 in my room right next to the TV, put the controller and games on the floor next to it and not have to worry about it. Plus, most of the games I like are more suited for a gamepad rather than the M&K set-up. Just because M&K is better for the most popular genre in gaming doesn't mean it's inherently superior. Playing on a mouse and keyboard doesn't make you "the shit".
