I have a 360 for high end games and a low end PC for stuff like Gmod, TF2, Quake III and HL2, which are the best PC games, in my opinion.

I think that should be normal, since the best part of PC gaming is free online, Steam (it's awesome), mods and keyboard and mouse (arguably). You get the best of both worlds at a reasonable price.

I mean, everybody has a computer that can run HL2 nowadays.
And you don't need a super awesome computer to run BF3, because you already have an Xbox, PS3 or whatever.

I invested in a great gaming PC not just to run Battlefield 3 on Ultra settings but to run every game I wanted that came out last year and every game I want that is coming out this year too. Why does it matter what someone spends their money on? As long as they enjoy what they pay for it is a good investment.

I don't know why, there's just something far more satisfying about running round a corner and killing 5 people on a pad than on the PC (this is coming from a vet PC-FPS PoV though) it almost feels more skilled...

You phrased that a bit backwards, you feel more skilled because it's easier to kill people, and most console CoD matches really go down that way because players only barely pay attention, at the same time they are possibly eating and / or napping.

Now run into a room with 5 guys in a Counter Strike match, at least 4 of them saw you before you noticed them, and 2 already have their crosshairs on your head.
That does not end in a pleasant experience... not for you at least, the other team however will be laughing their arse off.

I had steam problems briefly when I was on Vista, are you using Vista?

My experience has been basically the opposite. 3 dead 360's, PSN outages and constant feckin' updating(instant gratification on consoles?...my ass). PC wise, I've had 1 dead GPU in the years I've been at it...and that earned me a free upgrade for my trouble.

I've just recently gone nvidia 3d vision mk2. Consoles can't even get close to this.

I can understand the issue. I too have spent many hours of frustration with my computer. However, I just love PC gaming too much to ever call it quits. Sometimes I even enjoy the challenge of fixing a computer. (and discovering you know more about your computer than tech support)

I am so very sick of these PC vs Console threads. Almost every responce is just factualy wrong regarding cost, games, hardware, etc. If you like playing your games on X, then play them on X. Have fun and share your love of X. But ffs don't put shit on platform Y, or gamers who like platform Y. It doesn't matter! I can't even get a mod to work on Minecraft, I'm that hopeless. The thought of putting 900 or so bucks into a decent gaming PC only to find walls of requirements and tinkering just to get a game to work scares me.

Console is fine. I love Console. No work, only games.

And this is the exact reason I daren't buy any PC games that aren't, well, old. Besides the relativly low risk that they won't work, I can damn near guarantee I won't have to sign up for steam/etc, and there won't be too much DRM BS to go through.

Honestly, Steam is pretty damn good.

I use it to download old games that I missed on my Piece o'shit labtop and I've not once had a problem with it. It's simple and easy to use. And it treats you like a lady.

Yeah, but for one thing, I heard it's massive. I don't have a tiny hard drive, but it's hardly huge, and besides...steam sales. I'm a student, I can't afford that almighty seductress!

Being a fanboy of one system means you are missing out, and you deny yourself playing a load of great exclusive titles from other systems.

The loading times are ridiculous on console.

Skyrim for instance, my friend was playing it on his PS3. The load times were ridiculous. I have to wait about 5-10 seconds for a new area to load in Skyrim. He was waiting about a minute. I'll keep my short load times thanks. The game was also significantly worse looking and also doesn't have any mods.

Mods are the best reason to game on PC.

People who claim they don't like gaming on PC because "PCs are for work", "It's harder to control", "I don't like it", "My Xbox is better" are just silly.

I installed my copy to HDD (360) and my load times dropped from 30 seconds to 15 at the most. Mods are the best reason for PC gaming, you're right, and those reasons people give are silly. But that still doesn't change the fact that console gaming is just so much more simpler for those who don't want to get down & dirty in the gruel of technology. It's not often at all that PC gaming comes detached from that.

Sorry, this was literally the first thing I wrote this morning after waking up. I get what you're saying but then again you can't really compare CoD and CS. What I mean is that if you took the same scenario in a CoD game I find it more satisfying on the console than the PC.

EDIT: But yeah, its 100x easier to kill people on CoD than CS, CoD killed my CS aim for so long...

Erm dude, I think it's your computer...

PC games aren't supposed to be riddled with errors that render the game unplayable, and render your computer un-usable.

My advice is, uninstall Windows ME, and remove your floppy drives and upgrade your computer. Processor, ram, motherboard, graphics card, SATA drives, everything. It really shouldn't even be that expensive to get it up to a reasonable standard. Tadaaaa, fasted computer you've ever owned, eternal happiness AND non-hate for the master race.

Removal of Windows 7 is not necessary.
One can install a few OSes each for different purposes.
There's also virtual box and similar software.
