In our system if the Prime Minister were to oppose a Bill then he would take a much more active role in denouncing it, I just thought that that would pass across into your system.
That is why i didnt want to directly insult you for being another "stupid American" as these boards probably have more non-Americans on them than Americans.
And yeah, British and Australian government is sort of the same, and i have first hand knowledge of Australia's governmental workings. Plus my mom lived in England for 10 years, so i know more about that than the average American.
But here in America, the President signs the laws. If he doesnt like it, then he Veto's it, and that is that. The bill can be reworked and go through the congress and senate again, but again, the buck stops with the President. If the president says he wont sign it, then there is no need to push forward with the bill. If the president says he will sign it, then it will go through the process a lot faster.
