I was in school and a girlfriend at the time told me she was a vampire. I laughed and started messing about with what she does (like can she turn into bats and fly around spying on people) and then realised she was serious.
So this is the new teenager ways of getting attention?

*grabs out a high pressurized hose* "DIE FROM MY HOLY WATER >:D
*then grabs out stake*

People who think they're actually vampires are fucking retarded.

That pretty much summarizes my feelings on that. Role-play forums, okay. Keep it there. But that's as far as I'm willing to forgive this shit.

So my point; don't judge. You're no better, so don't act like you are. :p
News Flash. All people aren't created equal, and some people are actually better than others. And I'm way better than these people.

Must be a Fox News report, cause that was a load of Bull. Some people are smarter, can run faster, climb higher, etc et al, but a person is not made better by their lifestyle choices. By, I have to wonder, what standards are you judging these people you don't even know? Is it just cause they identify as something you personally find silly?

I dunno what you've done with your life, aside from 13 hours of boarderlands, and choosing mottos that don't fit your actual outlook, but these are the people with the spotlight, not you.
I have a motto?

And yes, a person is made better or worse by certain lifestyle choices. Namely the ones that make you a moron. You can pretend they aren't, if it makes you sleep easier at night, but being smarter, stronger, more successful, and a more positive force in the universe does, in fact make someone better than someone else.
Actually it is you who are trying to make yourself sleep better at night by pointing and laughing at other people. Have you strived for greatness in your own life? Are you trying to be smarter, stronger, or more successful than the best humanity has to offer? Do you lament the fact you are not as smart as Einstein or Newton, that you are not as strong as Lance Armstrong or Magnus Ver Magnusson? Or that you have not been as positive a force as Abe Lincoln or Martin Luther King?

No, you are just finding people you consider worse than you, and saying "At least I am not that bad!" With this mindset, all you have to do to feel a better person is roll out of bed before 3PM.

And you really thinks this makes you a better person?

I'm better than trailer trash. I'm better than neo-nazis. I'm better than people who think that vampires are real and that they get to be one. If there are people out there who believe that eating their own feces allows them them to perform feats of superhuman strength but they can only perfom said feats when no one else can see them, I'm better than them too. Know why? Because all of the above are stupid.

Intelligence is a fairly good standard to judge folks on, in my eyes. Sorry if that hurts your precious feelings so much that you had to research my Steam profile.

/wink

Godwinning the thread aside, Nazis: A group of people who went around convinced of their own superiority over another group they arbitrarily decided were stupider, weaker, and a negative force in the universe. Whilst you, on the other hand...

Oh wait.

there are three things this could be a) a twilight marketing campaign b) a Dante's inferno marketing campaign or c) an article made by the union. there is a rare affliction that makes it so that a human has to digest blood orally or they may very well die, but they don't think they're vampires.

Meh. I'm not bothered more by these fellas than those millions who believe in an invisble father figure floating around on a cloud, taking care of things for them. I might classify both casses as clear-cut delusions, but that doesn't stop them from being very real to those who believe.

A little crazy? They're off their fucking rocker.

Edit: this is from the site link "If you aren?t sure whether you?re a vampire, the forum lists a few ?symptoms? to notice: insatiable thirst (for blood, of course), chronic headache, muscle pains and spasms, insomnia, emotional distress, paranoia and general mental instability."

Well all of those (aside from insatiable thirst for blood) have a legitimate reason. Christ I've had muscle pains and insomnia before, doesn't make me a Vampire.
Firstly, brilliant call with "Off their fucking rocker".

Secondly, surely one of the symptoms of Vampirism would be being dead.

You're applying a very limited view of what it means to recognize that some people have more worth than others. Knowing that I am better than some people also means knowing that others are better than me. Yes, I do try to be the best I can be. I stay healthy and active, I keep trying to learn, I make sure that I serve well at my job, I do my best to raise my daughter as a single parent, I pay my mortgage on time, etc.

Of course people like Jesus and Einstein brought more to the table than I did. They had more than I did, whether in talent or luck or both, and I recognize that. You know what I don't do as a result? Invent a reality where I'm "more special" because I'm actually a vampire. I just try to do the best I can.

Knowing that you can be superior to others and believing that others should have to change/die/whatever are two different things. I have a neighbor who is Mexican, but is convinced that he's actually a member of the "Lost 13th Tribe of Judah" and is therefore Jewish. This is the third major religion he's jumped on this year. I could point out all the problems with his logic, but what good would it do? This makes him happy, so be it. He's wrong, mind you, but he's happy, so whatever. I would never walk up to a "Vampire" and try to change them, much as I wouldn't head down to the trailer park and try to explain how investing your money this way instead of spending it on cheap beer would be a better long term financial plan. It's wasted effort and these people are basically happy.

My only point is that saying, "No one is better than anyone else" is wrong. Some people have more worth than others. Unless you're asking who's better at being crazy. Then it's totally them.

Are you sure about that? Your avatar indicates otherwise. :p

In all seriousness though, I'm not surprised. That's because I was already surprised some weeks ago when I first saw this weirdness on a documentary. Yes even the whole "psychic vampires" thingy.

People who think they are vampires are idiots, but I guess its cool being in some sort of a fad. I mean really, who likes drinking other peoples blood? Disgusting.
