So I'm a Christian. I believe that a guy came down for about thirty years, preached peace, love, and understanding, and got the nail and hammer for it. As such I try to be as peaceful and accepting as possible of others beliefs as long as they aren't openly harmful to others. You're gay? Your choice, I'm obligated to tell you that I think what your doing is wrong, but invite me to the wedding and I'll probably show up for support. You're Atheist? Fine with me, I'm gonna preach the gospel, but let's hit the arcade when I'm not trying to convert you to the darkside.

But every once in a while their are people who will hold the same banner as you, but the words aren't quite right. Example, many members of the KKK would call themselves Christian (Facepalm).

So what are your beliefs, and what people who claim to have the same beliefs make you wanna deck them in the face (Yes I'm aware that wasn't very Christian of me to say, but you get what I mean)?

EDIT: To those who stated that it would be offensive to preach to someone of different beliefs, that's kind of the mission of Christianity really. We're a missionary religion, if that in itself makes us offensive than maybe we all are, but I believe I can spread my beliefs without disrespecting someone elses. I'm still out on the choice/birth debate, but I would hope that my one time mention of my beliefs wouldn't hurt a gay persons feelings too much.

Well if I was gay and I was being told what I didn't choose to be is wrong I would be rightfully pissed, but moving on.

Im a liberal and my friends a liberal, we share the exact same opinions on almost everything, though I openly attack the democratic party on being to week on policy while my friend thinks every thing a democrat does is good and everything thing a republican does is unbacked and completely moronic

I'm Christian too, but I don't think what gay people are doing is wrong (I'm bisexual myself, so that would be rather hypocritical).
I have my own views on what's right or wrong, and I'm not going to let my thoughts be governed by my religion.

So I guess I'm one of those people you're talking about?

I can't think of any examples of my own to give, as I don't file people away in groups, but rather evaluate them as individual people. As in, I wouldn't see it as another Christian with different views, but rather just another person with their own opinions.

Not really, my main arguement is people who preach a message with radically different results than the original intent, Pacifist who believe in unprovoked agression, that kind of thing. I don't agree, but it's not like you're throwing burning bricks into someones house.

The chirstian thing applies to me as well, or possibly formerly (I'm still deciding). All I need to show you is this website...

Apparently God has a hitlist and Obama is homosexual and a terrorist.

I'm (mostly) conservative and my list of these types is rather long and speaks for itself.

Glenn Beck
Sarah Palin
pretty much anyone in the Tea Party
Sean Hannity
Ann Coulter

I can tolerate Limbaugh and O'Reilly. O'Reilly is relatively respectful of his opposition and Limbaugh can have flashes of intelligence in his rants on occasion. For conservative TV pundits, I actually liked Scarborough before MSNBC became liberals' answer to Fox News and kicked him to the morning slot.

Used to be a christian and had this exact problem with the Westboro baptist church.

But hey, I'm agnostic now, so none of that stuff bother me anymore.

I'm also a Christian and believe in salvation through Christ. However one of the groups that I've been face-palming at most recently is the "Westboro Baptist Church." Really none of what they practice and preach is biblical and to the ill-informed, they make Christians look sadistic hate-mongers when that's a direct contradiction to the teachings of Christ. Really they should be classified as a heretical cult if anything, but they call themselves Christians because they know it'll garner them more attention, and if there's one thing the WBC loves, it's attention.

I'm Christian, yes. But I have my own sense of right and wrong and don't blindly follow what I'm told. As a science major, I question everything (indeed, it's the best way to learn)

I'm atheist and the guys that look down their nose at all religions saying they're all uniformly evil and what not annoy me.

I have a larger disliking for Catholics (due to their seeming inability to follow thier own laws), but that's personal and somewhat rationalised (for me), but I have no beef with most religions. To much effort to hate everything.

To add to this: if you're a Christian who believes in the infallibility of the Bible, I want to slap the shit out of you. The Bible is not God and was not written by God. To think otherwise is outright idolatry.

Well I'm an Atheist,(Used to be Catholic) but I'm not like the other idiots who hold the same banner as me who are going out of their way to laugh at people that don't believe what we do. I'm nothing like them, wow you're a Christian? a Buddhist? Great, as long as you don't try to convert me then make the stupid excuse that you are "saving me" or "You will burn in hell" then we're cool and I'll definitely go to that arcade with you. =P

Just a question I'd like answered, why do the annoying Christians (Not all Christians) go up to other people and preach about them burning in hell? They do know that most of them don't believe in that type of hell correct?

It is hard to be a Republican now that Fox News is around, isn't it? I say I am a Republican and I get looks of disgust.

Well as an anime fan, I really hate being paired up with "weaboos" (people who basically think Japan is awesome in every way and is the best country to ever exist, and they also curse their non-Japanese ancestry), mainly because I come across as one, since I watch anime, have anime posters in my room, and speak a good amount of Japanese.

I'm a mix of paganist, jewish, and atheist. (Don't ask, it all works out mentally XD)

Luckily, there seems to be a lack of Jewish extremists, so I haven't really enountered anyone who makes me facepalm.

I'll hit you up with that as well good sir. "Christian" is the only label I don't mind... be labeled with... so I am right up there with being annoyed at so-called Christians and their silly antics.

That's about it really. Any other "group" I could fall into would be extra silly if I was offended/upset/annoyed at how other members acted.

You do realise that's a joke site don't you?

OT: um, can't really think of anything belief wise. There are certain people who move in similar social circles who do things I disapprove of but belief isn't really something I ever discuss with anyone since I am not interested in anyone elses and have no desire to tell anyone about mine.
