Being given impossible tasks, and being promised that I would be sent to heaven if I accomplish them. Example: being told to jump four feet high, while trapped in a three-and-a-half tall box.
Depending on what the box is made of break the sides of it with your fist, you would have eternaty to do this so generally stop before your hand breaks/gets disfigured and continue and so on, then make dents in the box to climb up to the top, using fist again (optimal if you can jump five feet but i doubt it) then completion jump half a foot and vola success.

I thought of a better one!

Being asked to do NEAR impossible tasks such as draining a lake with a seive
since you are already dead, drink the water, or put it in your mouth then place the water where ever you have to place it, either (guess what) or spit it out

but the sand one does sound impossible without eternal patience or excellent guess work. but since you have eternity, well you would eventually get there, depending if there is no new sand coming in or going out.

or have i thought to much about this.

Being forced to play the same frustrating segment of a game only to fail at the last second for all eternity.

Lock me up in a plain white room, with no doors or windows, tied to a desk so tightly that I couldn't even move a muscle. And then I'd just sit there for all of eternity, bored and immobile forever. I'd go insane.
That plus removing the part of my brain that contains my ability to imagine things.

"My vision of hell? Probably being forced to play this retarded f***ing level, on Legendary for the rest of eternity. GOD DAMNIT!" Quoted by Travis in the Arby 'n' the Chief Movie.

But mine would being having to do the same damn thing over and over, for the rest of eternity. Almost like real life.

To be forever stuck in a room with everything I hate, perhaps including a water cooler that constantly breaks.

I just remembered this short play I read about on Wikipedia. It's about three people from hell who are locked on a room. Eventually they decide that they're supposed to torture each other. Does anyone know what's it called?

Edit: Will Reward With Cookie!
Are you thinking of Huis Clos (or In Camera) by Jean Paul Sartre? From what I can recall of the plot you seem to have summed it up pretty well. It came up with the phrase: 'Hell is other people.'

EDIT: Possibly also known as No Exit.

Om nom nom...

Glad to be of assistance :D
I'm going to need it back now...

OT: I think my hell would be drowning in my own guilt, but not being able to kill myself. The torturer's only tell me what I already know, but I shall loath them for it.

My hell would be a room with a PS3 and Xbox 360 but, I only have Wii games. So I will just keep attempting to play the wii games on a PS3/360.
Not only would i strangle myself with the power-cords at that point, but id break all the wii games before hand.

OT: If i was stuck in a white room with a thick layer of glass between me and the next room over. The guy in the next room is the creator of ignorance. Religious, general, and political ignorance are his speciality. He just sits there being smug, and influencing people to his views. I have a large axe, but if i swing it at his general direction i get disintegrated, only to be plopped down a floor, where the room with the man in it, now has 2 of him. So on and so on.
