And in the next twelve hours, what do you suggest? No it's not much, but it might have some effect.Flammable said:...I'm all for sticking it to a country for doing stupid shit, but an online petition? Ooh yeah, that'll scare 'em good. Maybe do something a little more pro-active than signing a petition and feeling like you're making a difference?
The UN allows other countries to take similar stances towards gays, such as IRAN (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_Iran skip down to the Legal status section)Meestor Pickle said:Signed, would the UN let them do that?

Thing is there are actually 2 huge problems in that bill 1- condemining someone for his sexual orientation and 2- death penalty.Having media rising the eye on this issue can only hope for a resolution, and yes I agree it's a low hope. What they can do since someone already brought UN in the thread is not have the death penalty executionable since the UN already signed an universal condon(sp?)to stop it in all countries(even if big members like USA,Iran,China voted against it still got approved-not an anit-american here by no means just stating the facts).Blitzwing said:How will this petition change their minds?
It's not the first time this bill was proposed and was already canceled because of people made their voice heard:Steppin Razor said:Check your facts - they removed the death penalty from the proposed bill. Now it's just life imprisonment if you're convicted of the horrendous crime of not being straight. Fucking Africa and all the evangelical Christians running around messing the place up.
