Phone calls that have flat out scared you.

I was just recently called by a restricted number, and a lady asked me my name and I said Stephen, she said some last name I had never heard before, and I said they had the wrong number, then she said that she didn't and was from the "special republic", and that they had an offer for me. She asked what my last name was, and I asked why, she said that she was going to conduct an interview. I hung up. I'm fucking scared.
So, do the Escapists have any phone calls that have scared them?

Can't say scary, but my mum lost her mobile phone once and a man used it to call home. I picked up the home phone and a very loud man shouts "is this your phone?!?"
Well, I don't know, is it?

Them: "Then put that on the PHONE!"
Me: "Who?"

Them: "Oops. Sorry."

No, she just insisted that she knew me, and wanted to "conduct an interview", I was alone in my house at the time, and for years my mother made me paranoid about this kidnapper who stood outside your house and called you. I'm kind of a pussy so that might explain it.

When I was three, I used to get phone calls from the Crypt Keeper. Those always scared me.
It was my mom's friend, of course, but I didn't know at the time. :\

I've never really been "scared" by a phone call but have been creeped out by a few prank calls. Although I partake in them sometimes so meh...

I once had a one-night stand with a girl. The guy she cheated on got a hold of my (unlisted) number, called it, and said "Dude, man-to-man, you know she's got a bunch of STDs, right? Seriously, get yourself tested, because she gave that shit to me too."

Now, I had a feeling the guy was bluffing (jilted lover and all), but that was a SCARY day at the clinic, followed by a profound sense of relief when all the tests came back negative. And even worse was getting an HIV test six months later and thinking "this disease takes a while to show up on tests, right? What if that girl from...nah..." and having the same mortal terror followed by sweet relief when that test came back negative.

Actually, that ended up being the last one-night stand I had. Didn't put me off cheap flings and short-term relationships of a primarily sexual nature, but one-night stands with random women are right out.

okay so when i was like 12 i was home alone, it was night and the phone rang. I was playing some game on my computer so i did not answer it. Then on the answering machine i heard a little kid saying some words i could not understand than an adult laughing the most evil and scariest laugh. I got freaked out and almost called 911

I told him she was dead.
He said no she wasn't he knew and to tell her he was going to fuck her shit up.
I said I would get right on that as soon as I stopped furiously masturbating to the sound of his voice.

I said he had a sexy voice and I couldn't help myself. I asked him to tell me what he was wearing.
He told me to fuck off and called me a freak.
I said I thought we had something special. I told him I loved him.
He said to just tell my mother her ass was grass.
I said it is clearly not grass we are people what are you stupid.
He told me to shut the fuck up idiot.
I said why are you so mean to me lately and asked him if he even cared about me any more.
He said something unintelligible and hung up.

I was fourteen at the time and there was some heavy shit going on, so I was pretty scared for my mum. I am still not entirely sure what possessed me to provoke the guy.
Never found out who he was. Thankfully, he was all talk.
