Shenanagins. I hate and react terribly slowly to mouse-and-keyboard. I'm better with a controller.

If K/D matters to you, then you, sir, should go fuck yourself. It has nothing to do with skill.

For example, I was playing CounterStrike: Source, when there was this one guy bragging about his K/D, and I sniped him with an autosniper. He proceeded to scream obscenities at me about my choice of weaponry and how it is a "noobcannon". I left, for he bothered me.

I'm a good player in most FPS games, I guess. Not the best player ever, but at least a bit above the norm.

I, too, hate the guys/girls out there who are horrendously bad at their game of choice, and just can't own up to it. But there's not much I can really do about it, so I just ignore them.

It's generally well excepted fact that the mouse is way faster and more precise...then again you personally could be better off using a controller if it clicks with you better...

Just never go head to head with anyone using a mouse if you're going to play with a controller...that'll be suicide...=/

When you play Counter Strike or Call of Duty, it's your fault if you die.

If your playing a Team based game like Team Fortress 2, then IT IS your teams fault...the game is made so you can't take on five players at once.

Yeah I think one thing console users have to admit is that the PC is simply better. We pay more money for them, yes, but we have better graphics, more precise controls, the ability to upgrade, etc, and custom controls, like if you wanted a mouse to better fit your hand or a keyboard with certain hotkeys.

I'm not saying that consoles are bad garbage, I'm just saying that it has to be said...

That is pure unbalanced logic. Just because you killed a guy ONCE with what I am presuming to be one of those semi-automatic Snipers, than that is absolutely no reason to say that you are better than someone.

I wasn't criticising the guy for his K/D spread, he was blaming us as his team because he didn't like his K/D spread.

I hate to admit that sometime I am quick to blame the lag. But before you burn me at the stake you should know that my ping at lowest is usually 150-175 while I'm playing against people with pings in the 20's and 30's so I think I'm kinda justified in that respect.
Yeah, no. I get lucky on 400ms.

Yeah but never take that up with a console gamer, especially someone that's on xbox live half the time.

I once got into a heated argument over how much more natural PC FPS gaming felt with one of my friends that plays XBL, and it got to the point I had him try my PC version of MW...after about 20mins of playing he stood up and left without a word, got so upset he didn't want to talk to me for over 3months...0o

I've got a friend like this. Every time he dies online in Halo he shouts about lag or how the guy who killed him has somehow hacked the game. It pisses me right off.

Now, I also suck. My death count is way higher than my kill count, but I have loads of fun anyway.

The mouse is much more precise but feels silly. You don't get the same feeling as pulling a trigger as you do when you well click a button. I like the feeling of my controller more than the key board it's subjective. However it may be fact that the mouse is more precise due to pixels per second rates and also due to the way one controls it. Which ever is more fun is purely subjective, don't be an idiot. I've played alot of cs and I never found it as entertaining as playing xbox in 1080i.

And saying that the pc is better out right is silly as well. You may like it but I just don't, deal with it.

Ok, to start off, I am Effilctar aka g3n3r4l WTF, and I am terrible at FPS online multiplayer. in all of possibly 9 hours of playing Modern warfare 2, I'm only level 21 and got my first harrier strike approximately 20 minutes ago. I admit, I am bad at FPS's, and what gets on my nerves even more than arrogant good players, is bad players who will blame anyone but themselves, often blaming their team or lag.

An example would be playing CTF today, I met a lvl 30-something, whatever prestige he was, who at the end of the game had 9 kills and 20 deaths. The first thing he did was blame his team for his lack of kills, claiming that he plays good if he is with a good team.
Now, sorry, but I always thought that a player's skill made them good at a game, not the people they play with, and if you do need a team to help you play good then you're not a very good player, are you?

Have my fellow Escapians had similar experiences?
You play on xbox Live?...

My online gaming experience is pretty fucking sweet actually. If the server I am on gets annoying, I just find a new one. My steam friends list is huge and I just got braid for 2.50. also TF2 just got an update and thats pretty nice too. Didn't cost me a dime either.

I'm the first to admit when I suck at a game. It's kind of like how Yahtzee looks at games coming out... expect it to be bad, so you'll be right if it is or pleasantly surprised that you're wrong. But at least I can get better at a game.

I scored a massive kill streak just today that lasted until the end of the match, it was a nice change from "walk 2 steps and die, repeat until match ends".

EDIT- Kudos to the person above for the kickass Aku avatar.

Well, like I said what ever suits your fancy.

I actually like the whole trigger aspect in console gaming too but the whole precision thing has always made me lean more towards PC over consoles.

Not nice.

Console bashing is bad.

I find most Live users to be reasonable, with the odd asshole thrown into most games to spice things up a little.

I blame lag. Because I actually lag.

On good days I'm under 300.

And I still come out MVP! HUZZA!

I'm not that good at FPS's. About 2/3 of the time I hurt my time. Sometimes a do really good (for me) which in Modern Warfare 2 is like 11 kill-streak.

I'll will admit when I'm bad that that sucked. People who blame others just suck.

Honestly though, its there loss. I don't care what they think, thats why there's a mute button. They are the people who go through match after match, cursing there team, lag or what ever and are missing the core fun.

Just say your bad and move on and have fun, because really no one gives a shit if your bad, improve and have fun and everyone should be happy.

You're right. The PC is capable of playing any game (torrents, pirating, ports, and emulators), has the most versatile control system, the best possible graphics and performance, and to to top it all off you can run background programs. You're right, because it takes a ton of money to afford and tech prowess to gain the maximum potential, and so far there's only two people that can truly unlock it's true power, Bill Gates and Batman.

That isnt strictly true... yes a bad player will play bad regardless of the skill of the people on their team BUT the skill of the people on your team is important as it is a team game... For example do you think a good player could take on an entire team on their own? No.

Will said "Good" player die more because they are getting attacked by a lot of people at the same time? yes.

Do you think a good sniper can keep cover with a moron running around near him trying to knife him because he thought he was on the opposite side? No.

Do you think a LMGer can take down a harrier, helicopter, etc without being killed as soon as they start shooting in the air without some decent team mates to cover him? No.

The team is crucial, saying that a good player is good regardless of the team simply isnt true.

However, you do get people who claim to be good but are actually absolute n00bs who rely on their team mates too much. For example, knifers. The people that NEED people on their team to divert attention away from them so they can take advantage of a glitch or the time difference on each individuals console thanks to there being no dedicated servers.

Its a team game, you need a balance of team play and solo.

EDIT: ALSO, acknowledging that there are people who are bad at playing FPS' then saying that blaming other people means they suck is just ridiculous... if there are bad people then clearly they must do things that can lead to someones death.

For example, a sniper is scanning the area when a team mate comes up and sits down beside him... so far so good, a bit worrying but still nothing wrong with that... Now he moves forward, right up to the window... Okay, he is only seeing if there are people below... thats fine... Now he stands up and starts moving around like an idiot, moves over and sits in front of you because you got the best place and he wants whatever kills you were about to get FORGETTING that he just gave away your position! He runs away when someone starts firing and the bullets catch you as he was stood in front of you for a couple of seconds!

That was not your fault that was his fault, clearly.

EDIT 2: And dont say "Yeah, but when would that ever happen?!" because it happened to me 2 days ago and it was a pain the the arse!
