What is with it, Like ive never made a girl character for anything (WoW, Fallout, Guitar Hero, City of Heroes, Champions Online etc.)
I dont see what the point is, Like fair enough you want to roleplay as a girl but i hate when they pretend to be girls.

Scenario #1.

*Girl wearing a bikini walks up to uber high level guy*
Girl (guy): Hey can i hav som money pls im poor :)
Guy: Holy shit are you a real girl. Like in real life
Girl guy): yeh
*The uber high level hands over every last penny he has*
Girl (guy) thnkx :)
*Uber high level adds the Girl [guy] to his friends list)

Tell me have you ever made a girl character, NOT to bludge money just to play as.
If yes, Why?
And that is why you should play a girl avatar in MMO's.

Playing a girl character? I don't but I can see the appeal, spend hours a day staring at a guy's ass, or a girl's ass?

I'm curious: How many people made a female character in Mass effect so they could watch the lesbian "Sexbox" *cough* scene?

On topic, my only real arguments are of the advantages of female gender (I.E other people thinking with their dick. Another interesting fact, Two identical warriors battling it out, except 1 is female, one is male, im sure most people would, consciously or unconsciously think the male would win, thus a female warrior has another advantage over males) And of course Aesthetics.

Also, in World of Warcraft especially, the male characters look fucking stupid as spellcasters, with muscles that would put some pro-wrestlers to shame and all...
Undeads, HUGE. LACK. OF. MUSCLE. But every other race does look odd.

When I'm staring at an arse for months on end, may as well be a female one. Besides, men in robes look silly [http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/8106/prettyinpinklol001ky4.png]

Oh yes.

Im same. If I am going to be looking at the back of a character for what could be several, several hours...then, yes, even if computer generated I want it to be at least pleasing to look at for the time...

And yes, men in robes, any robe, looks rediculous!

Most of WoW's male alliance characters look stupid. Male humans, dwarves and night elves run without moving their arms, giving them the appearance of a moving brick. Draenei have the opposite problem of the females looking like the upper half of their bodies want to twist off and move as far away as possible from their horribly deformed legs.

I'm a guy and I play as a guy, my sister isn't a guy and she doesn't. She inherited my guild wars account off me and created new female characters, if anyone asks her gender she tells them she is a forty year old builder called Bob.
She once created a male character (which she deleted for pvp) called something like hunky man.
I'm always slightly shocked when a female pc comes up to me in a game, looking like a stick with two space hoppers nailed to it, and tries to convince me they're female.

i tend to be a girl on the second playthrough of a game, just to have a different kind of character
Same here, depending on how well the first play though went- If it was short and I missed a lot, I'll pretty much do the same character again, but if I did a good amount of stuff then it's a more top-heavy playthough for me.

Because I'm a guy in real life, If I'm playing a role I'd like for it to be different from my real one. Plus in MMO's I multi, so I have a male character around too.

I made a female warlock because there was a female mage (also played by a guy) in my guild named Velour who had another female alt named after some other fabric. And that is Flanel's backstory, the end.

Male gnomes are the pinnacle of awesome though, especially with the huge facial hair they can sport.

Also they have the best lore character ever, Millhouse Manastorm [http://www.wowwiki.com/Millhouse_Manastorm]. The fecker's tall for a gnome too, taller than male dwarves and almost as tall as female humans.

What's wrong with playing as a character of the opposite sex? I do it all the time. My characters on RPGs are usually split 50/50 (or close to) between male and female. And my only complete playthrough of Mass Effect was done with a female Sheperd (Jennifer Hale is a much better voice actor than whoever does the male Sheperd) I don't see why playing a character that is something I'm not in real life is weird. I mean, isn't that the point of a role-playing game? Besides, I'm not a mage or an orc in real life either, but I can play as those in RPGs without anyone batting an eye.

I'd never pretend that I was female in real life though, to get free stuff or otherwise. Though honestly, people who do give people free stuff just because they think that they're girls deserve to be scammed in my opinion.

Sure I have. In Mass Effect I played as a sexy Shepherd in a skin-tight-spacesuit. I would rather look at that for 100 hours than a guy. And it made those long elevator rides much easier.

I also made an attractive female in Fable II. It actually made the game better, because I actually cared what she looked like. I bought and colored an outfit I liked (sort of a tricky pixie kind of look) I kept her thin, and made sure she was pure and good. I also never let her die to get those pesky scars. And when she got back from the Spire and was old and wrinkly, I immediatly dedicated my play time to earning money to buy the Brightwood Tower (if you sleep in it, you become young again).

But I had to play as Old Man El Tigre in Fallout 3. I needed to feel like a man.

I've played as female characters but always play as male first. I understand where you're coming from. I don't know if it's just me but it always feels odd playing as a female the first time around, like someone's judging me with their arms folded and scoffing. I generally prefer to play as males anyway; Guild Wars for example I have 4 males and 2 females.
