Playing loud music on the bus!!!

You know what usually works? Metal. Although not too powerful metal like Cannibal Corpse.

I actually wanted to do that. Me and my brother was at the bus station at night and some drunk kids were playing some annoying pop at high volume. We had a perfect list of good artists on the cellphone (Nine Inch Nails, Manson, etc.), and we just wished we had some sort of mini amplifier or something to out-play them (I wanted to play Terrible Lie).

Yes. I love metal, though I usually only have Symphonic Metal, I've got Disturbed, Korn, and a band called Nevermore for more... metal-y metal?

That makes me want to go out and buy a mini-amp(or something) to carry around with me all the time, just for this type of situation.

I dislike it. But fortunetly, it's doesn't happen very often to me. It occurs once every twwo or three years.

If it annoys me greatly, then yes I would tell them to stop.

I had an incident a while back. Particularly chav looking waste o' DNA hops on the train looks around see's that there is no conductor. Whips out his phone & starts playing something that could only be described as GBH to my ears.

Me: Mate, would you turn that off I'm sure no one on the train wants to listen to that.
Chav: How do you know no one wants to listen? Have you asked em?
I stand up & gesture around: Anyone? Do any of you want to listen to it?

One BIG fella stands up walks to the chav says something & flips some sort of id or card at him(Turns out he was an off duty copper) music gets turned off & he then sits down opposite me. I thank him.

yes i hate it, and i have the kind of people who play it EVERY day on the bus and most of the people on my bus sit in the back with the person who plays it becuase they all like it so i can't say anything about it (not to mention i don't want to becuase they're the kind of people that would give you a problem if you so much as look at them)

If it was some scummy chav music I reckon I woulda said something. Depends. The Metro can be a pretty dangerous place. But I think the song this person had on was Poker Face by Lady Gaga.. i have guilt pleasures like that..

Simply put are you the kind of person who finds this behaviour annoying &/or would you stand up & confront the offending individual.

I have a theory.
The bigger the speakers said person has, the worse his or her musical taste is.
It's always people who have external speakers to their cellular phones who have the worst musical tastes.

I personally put my own music on my earbuds so that I don't have to stand the morons music on public places.

How, and here's a cute story: A friend of mine took a bus-trip from Stockholm to Copenhagen. It's a busride of 12-16 hours. During the entire busride 4 morons had a portable stereo and played their shitty trancemusic the entire trip for everyone to hear.

When the batteries ran out they detected that there's a power outlet beneath their seats, so they connected the stereos power-source to it, and the stereo blew a fuse and the stereo never worked again.
The power outlet was only intended for special vacuum cleaners the company uses to clean the bus.
Yay for morons.

I don't know anyone who's brash or brave enough to play what they like in front of the entire bus. I use headphones when I listen to shit, and I make sure nobody else can hear it.

Dude, some iPods don't even require headphones anymore; they're like a little radio. The people that own these will often take advantage of it and make sure that everyone gets to hear what they're listening to, regardless of how big of a rude asshole it makes them look. Pretty sure that was a terrible idea on Apple's part.

I hardly ever use the bus.And the bus here is so small that whenever i do use the bus it's just me and my friends.

I just got a great idea. I should start using the bus, and take a huge boom box with me, and whenever someone starts playing any gangsta rap or anything from a source with bad quality (phone, ipod), i will turn on the boom box and play all the worst polka songs i can find at 3x the normal speed. That'll teach them.
