I love my PS3, but in sony's current state... it is merely a glorified dvd player. Everything that comes out for the PS3 is multiplatformed... so I buy it for my 360 which i think is a hell of alot more fun.
Wow, irrelevant posting for the sake of posting really rocks!phalanfy said:wow, fanboyism rocks!
Here's a good one for you. How long does it take you to walk to your console and back? Ok. Now compare that to how long it takes MGS4 to 'install' a level.phalanfy said:may i ask an honest question, whats the big deal with multi-disked games, oh no every couple hours i got to stand up and stretch my legs, maybe get a snack. it never bothered me and in some cases if it wasn't for disks changes i would of lost track of time for a damage length of it. by the by i think they should make a new colony wars game
Decoy Doctorpus said:Sorry but your review comes off as highly biased and a lot of your claims about the hardware were false or misinformed, (The Cell processors give the PS3 the advantage when it comes to physics calculation and curing cancer but it sure as fuck doesn't mean a damn thing when it comes to graphics). You often resorted to simply listing features instead of giving us a solid opinion about them and the only time the piece didn't read like something a Sony intern would cook up was when you resorted to childish bullshit. (Playstaion 3 is an amazing piece of technology. It is easily the most powerful console of any console. For the people who disagree, I can just say "Go fuck yourselves!")
That being said you obviously put a lot of work into the review. It's clear and concise but not quite entirely typo free. The wrapper is nice but the candy was rotten.
I bet you guys are thinking pretty highly of yourselves because you've found a fault in my review...a fault i've already pointed out to the people who have read my review. I don't know anything about what is inside my PS3 and i'm sure plenty of other people are in the same boat as me...big FUCKING deal. I didn't write this review to talk technology jargin with everyone. I wrote it to tell everyone what I thought about the Playstation 3. If I offended you with my lack of general tech knowledge, i'm sorry. Maybe you're just a little too sensative on certain subjects. The Playstation 3 is very powerful, that's all you need to know.Aries_Split said:...Open my profile.MrBrightside919 said:If I wanted the opinion of a fanboy, i'd go to the Gametrailers forums...Aries_Split said:This person clearly has no idea what he's talking about in terms of Hardware, and the whole thing smells like a giant Sony pamphlet, but I guess its fairly informative.
Look down.
Do you see the PSN ID?
Now shut up and realize that a Cell Broadband Engine is a terrible device for gaming. It's really great at floating point calculations, but not very good for the processing that comes with applications like games.
Also, in a sheer neck to neck comparison, there is VERY little difference between a GeForce 7800GTX, An ATI Xenos(In use by the 360), and the Nvidia RSX. All of which is trumped by a cheap 100 dollar 8800GT.
"Blu Ray is Sony's answer to high definition for both games and movies. Games that utilize Blu Ray have a much larger space to store content, which means that games can be much larger than they would be on other consoles. The PS3 versions of multi platform games wouldn't ever need to go to extra disks because the storage space is so much bigger than a DVD. That just makes me wonder how many disks Final Fantasy XIII will be on the 360."
Umm...No. First of all, MGS4 only took up so much space because Hideo refused to compress audio and visual files for a very insignificant gain in quality. Secondly, the first Viva Pinata takes up 10 gigs of space on a PC. That's a complete install. That is a very large amount. That easily fits on a dual layered DVD. Blu-Ray is overhyped and unpractical.
So before you accuse me of being a fanboy(I have no idea how you came to that conclusion either, considering I never mentioned any other company) learn what the hell your talking about.
God forbid they actually have to get up.Decoy Doctorpus said:Here's a good one for you. How long does it take you to walk to your console and back? Ok. And just for the record...I own ALL THREE CONSOLES, so I find it more than a little insulting when you say my review was very biased. You might be the ONLY person who thought that it was, in fact, very biased.
Moving on...
I called you a fanboy because you are a fanboy, no matter what you think. Maybe you aren't a console fanboy, but you're a fanboy, not because you jumped into the PS3's corner to defend it when I flubbed up, but because you felt that you needed to correct me on my mistake. Not only that, but you felt that you needed to be a complete ass in the process...
Ya know what, I take back what I said about you being a fanboy. You're not a fanboy...you're an asshole...
To take a page out of Adam Sessler's playbook...

Hehe. That's pretty good actually.theultimateend said:Did anyone note the fact that the DRM for blue ray costs a large chunk of cash and is obligatory (or whatever word that means YOU MUST DO IT MOFO!)
Then again that was the case as of a few months ago, maybe they brightened up since the damn thing is already cracked.

How old are you?
Not only was that a very immature response, but it had little to nothing pertaining to anything I actually said.
You imply I'm a fanboy because I critique you...? How is that relevant? what am I a fan of? Internal hardware components?
Then after calling me a fanboy you get angry because someone accuses you of being biased?
And then you act as if all you did was give an opinion after you told everyone else who thought differently to fuck off?
Afterwards which you spew nonsense that once I refute you go crazy and start quoting someone with a far better grasp on what he's talking about?
Honestly- In my opinion- nothing. My only thinking now is that it can distract from the 'flow/story' aspects of the game.phalanfy said:may i ask an honest question, whats the big deal with multi-disked games, oh no every couple hours i got to stand up and stretch my legs, maybe get a snack. it never bothered me and in some cases if it wasn't for disks changes i would of lost track of time for a damage length of it. by the by i think they should make a new colony wars game
Except that's not true:Reg5879 said:so PS3 will overtake Xbox 360 in the long run.
Also the Playstation controllers have always felt... bad. The dreamcast controller was perfection and Xbox copy that a lot.Simriel said:Now i hate sony. No im not an Xbox fanboy, i never owned an Xbox and only recently was given the gift of a 360. I have hated sony for years. This review is something that would convince me to give Sonys latest console a shot, IF it had not been reviewd with an H.D tv. The vast majority of people are still not using H.D and while the review covers a lot, this basic thing lets it down for me. You explain how great it looks, and how good blu - ray Dvd is, when most people won't have the hardware to experience them, In fact, if i bought a PS3, due to my t.v not being H.D there would be little difference between the 360, and PS3 graphics. Good review, but let down for me by that fact. And thats too a lot of people, Stop using the H.D experience in general console reviews. Compare the H.D features seperately.
