Black & White are based on New York State.

All the characters in that game are based on the typical people of New York.

2+2=4
You mean the average 12 year old girl in New York State is a prostitute?

*EDIT* ok, at least 50,000 people have quoted me, most saying the same thing, so please stop quoting this. It's not that interesting reading mostly the same responses phrased differently.
She's 15, do the research. I like the way they look. It's actually realistic.
That's funny, i thought i edited my post to say that i had plenty of responses to that post and didn't think anyone could contribute anything new. You didn't contribute anything new btw.

I think she looks fine and the fact that the only complaint that people have with the game are the PC and a few Pokemon designs is proof that the game is better than it's ever been, I remember people complaining about glitches or exploits in every previous generation but not this time around. Just a bunch of prudes that scream slut when more than 2 inches of flesh are visible on a female body. And hell, I love that big ponytail!

I will never play a gen V game as anyone but Touko!

I saw that someone said they were based on New York, but I find the girl more Texas than NY. Hell, the guy doesn't even look NY, he looks more...not rural, but a smaller city than NY, Chicago maybe? Look like he's NE US looking, and the girl is more southern. So the choices are a Northern boy in what looks like a strange track suit, or a Southern girl during the time that it isn't below 70 degrees (those whole like 4 weeks I bet, I'm an Ohioan, we have Fall, Winter, Snow Winter and construction, so I dunno what the South is like year round)

It's...odd...but at least she's wearing shorts rather than a skirt. And besides, it's a game that anime based. It's a JRPG where you have magical pets doing all the crazy fighting instead, at least the boy LOOKS like a boy instead of being dressed in magical fairy dust made vests and pants that look more like skirts. And again, she's at least wearing short rather than having a short skirt

Funny you mention this. Because the more I play the game, the more I find that while I do like the smartness of my male trainer, I wish he'd cut his hair by a few inches. The girl trainer, on the other hand, seems to be more of an outgoing, adventurous character - which is better suited for an adventure game like Pokemon, in my book!
I like both character designs, and they were some of the most interesting things going into the game. I respect if you don't, though, but it seems like an exaggeration to call the game sexist just because of this - Pokemon's always been the sort of game that's tried to appeal to both genders equally. Just look at Cynthia, who's been my favourite champion since Lance in Silver.

I do dearly hope that isn't the case, as it's saying that any and all women who want to play the game have to either want to be eyecandy to guys, or play the other gender's character if they want to seem normal - and that's just preposterous.

Hands up for a proper character creation for the pokemon games instead of picking pre-sets.

The US has been locked in a hardcore puritan oppression for a few centuries. It would be nice to see us mature and stop shitting flames and blood each time someone doesn't wear a radiation suit. Or to be less hyperbolic, anytime anyone wears anything we don't find acceptable.
^THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS! Seriously, this whole thread over short shorts!

I find it more offensive that the PCs official English names are 'Hilbert' and 'Hilda'.

Yeah, I think that'd be pretty good.
This works quite well, even if it's not quite what you need for a game. (it's a single static image after all):

This is my attempt at a pokemon trainer to represent me personally from a while back. (I've been using this as my profile pic on facebook for ages. XD)

I recently got Pokemon White and I wasn't too happy with the female either. -.-

Absolutely hate her outfit and those shorts are terrible! It'd be much better if we could just customize our own character and clothes.

I must be the only person who finds nothing wrong with either character.

Then again, I'm incredibly lax about things as trivial as this.
