POKEMON WILL NEVER DIE!!
anyway, i'd like to have a chance of actually "catching them all" (i only did in yellow) and be able to get all of the starter pokemon. also, i want to be able to capture mew without using the glitch in red/blue

Why can't we have a goddamn pokemon thread without someone complaining about a series everyone loves still existing? Don't you people have something better to do than complain?

OT: Special pokemon that are so powerful they count as 2 pokemon at once for the sake of double battles.

Make you be able to choose between 2 groups of 3 starters(the usual plant-fire-water, or a new rock-air-fighting).

Make more differences between dark and ghost types. Serious, offensively they're pretty much the same.

Iwould like them to bring in key items rather than hms for example swiming trunks instead odf surf and scuba equipment for dive

I think that they should
A: allow you to start in Kanto and work your way to the newest place
B: allow your starter to be ANY 1st level non-legendary pokemon
C: make the leveling system ONLY for move-gaining, so that everybody's pokemon aren't super mega powerful by the end of Hoenn
I like that idea. But how about instead of changing the leveling system, make the last few areas actually tactically challenging so the game can break out of it's elemental rock paper scissors slump.

One of the problems that I always have playing pokemon is that I don't know anyone else who does... so it makes getting all of them basically impossible unless I want to risk going on some random forum and trading for what could turn out to be a glitchy hacked pokemon that'll corrupt my file. Also, I realize that having some of the pokemon only be capturable after beating the elite four is kind of a gameplay extending measure, but since I don't have anyone to play with (making it all but impossible for me to capture every pokemon) the game ends for me after the elite four. In pearl, for instance, I really wanted Rotom to be a part of my team, since I really like ghost pokemon (and I didn't really like any of the electric types in the game except Rotom), but you can't catch it until after you get the national pokedex... which is really dissappointing for me since, like I said, for me the game is over after I beat the elite four.

Separate HMs. Surf and Fly are really necessary for travelling around, and when I go into a dungeon, I don't want to gimp my team by carrying around a Strength/Rock Smash annd Dive/Waterfall gimp 'mon.

I dunno about that, I do think stuff like swim should be inherent in most water pokemon (Gyarodos can't do that already? Magikarp was swimming when I freaking caught him) But that would make for them needing to find a new way of advancing the story as a lot of HMs are plot devises used to force you to complete certain tasks.

What do you mean by 'tactically challenging'? I'm not sure how much tactics can be incorporated into Pokemon

If that happened, then the characters themselves, appearance-wise, would have to be extremely customizeable, at least if you make it to that level. Can't have important people like that looking generic!
I'd like to see the sprites be customisable in general like that new PS3 16 bit style dungeon crawler where you just build the sprite yourself.
But it's a Japanese game and in general their RPGs lack true Roleplaying in favor of, "Take this hip character and build up his stats around a story we have made for you", I don't mind it but I prefer western RPGs in that sense.
Well yeah, but to their credit you make a team of upto 6 pokémon which can each have any one of hundreds of move combinations, AND their are (500 I think?) pokémon to choose from. As far as JRPG's go, there is a lot of potential customisation for your character there.

I really like this idea. There could just be certain pokemon that can do the HM moves inherently! Why can't Machamp push a damn rock until I teach it how to? Why can't Ho-Oh fly me somewhere until I give it a manual? Why indeed can't Gyarados swim until I give it waterwings?

I would just like to see better pokemon. Every single one from B&W looks idiotic. I'd also like to see more/better pokemon from less utilized types. Electric types usually draw the shortest straw.

Because the game can be played in ways other than maxing out a Pokemon in all the major elements and then go blow crap up. Shendinja+ Swords Dance + Baton Pass = Win

I would like the ability to walk diagonally. I'm fed up taking 2 steps to reach somewhere when 1 would do.

Pretty sure that would require a joystick.

How about harder? or a difficulty setting or something similar. I always hated how easy the games were. And a longer story would be fantastic. i've caught em' all in diamond. There should be more i hate how in heartgold (btw loved it) i keep getting this feeling of ...now what? DLC would be cool even if only the DSi or 3DS could use it.

I agree with most of the ideas of the original post.

The one other thing I've always wanted in Pokemon since the very first games (Red/Blue/Green for those of you who can't remember) was the option to join Team Rocket. They always approached you with the option to join them and recognized you as a strong trainer. Why not add it into the game? With the game still being a 2D top-down RPG, they could easily program two entirely different games and fit them both on the cartridge, so why not just have two different story-paths through the same game? A lot could even remain the same. Instead of Oak (or whatever they name the professor) you could report to Giovanni. Instead of catching wild pokemon, they could change it so that you can only steal pokemon from trainers. That way both stories would have different opportunities as to what to catch, giving you a reason to play both. Look at that, my idea even added replay value to this game! It won't happen, I know, but admit it, it's a good idea!

I understand your point, but what I meant was how can the developers make it so that you CAN'T win by getting a level 100 Rayquaza and murdering everything? How can they FORCE players to use tactics?
