I would like the ability to walk diagonally. I fed up taking 2 steps to reach somewhere when 1 would do.
Pretty sure that would require a joystick.
If it comes out for the 3DS, that has a joystick. Or, a thumb nub anyways...

Right now, all I care about is that they finally added random online battle. The Tyrany of Friend Codes is over!

Well yeah, but to their credit you make a team of upto 6 pokémon which can each have any one of hundreds of move combinations, AND their are (500 I think?) pokémon to choose from. As far as JRPG's go, there is a lot of potential customisation for your character there.
Can't argue with you there, on my list of things to change customisable sprites is laughably low. I was just replying to the post. I would love to see more customisability in the pokemon themselves though, being able to say you focused on strength for your pikachu rather ran speed would be fun and would open up the option to have more than one of a certain pokemon built up in totally different ways.

Of course as you said they have already got a ridiculous amount of customisability in the game and asking for more is a bit cheeky, I think it'd be cool though.

You don't need a joystick to move diagonally, plenty other games do it. A shining example would be Golden Sun, and that was on GBA.

I think that they should
A: allow you to start in Kanto and work your way to the newest place
B: allow your starter to be ANY 1st level non-legendary pokemon
C: make the leveling system ONLY for move-gaining, so that everybody's pokemon aren't super mega powerful by the end of Hoenn
I like that idea. But how about instead of changing the leveling system, make the last few areas actually tactically challenging so the game can break out of it's elemental rock paper scissors slump.
What do you mean by 'tactically challenging'? I'm not sure how much tactics can be incorporated into Pokemon
Because the game can be played in ways other than maxing out a Pokemon in all the major elements and then go blow crap up. Shendinja+ Swords Dance + Baton Pass = Win
I understand your point, but what I meant was how can the developers make it so that you CAN'T win by getting a level 100 Rayquaza and murdering everything? How can they FORCE players to use tactics?
Try to get through the Ore Colosseum in Pokemon Colosseum, and you'll see exactly what I mean. Even legendarys will fall like dominoes with the right tactics.

I'd say in the interest of of immersion if a level 100 Rayquaza couldn't end just about anything it'd be a bit odd. Further customisability in pokemon stats however would allow you get more invested in a pokemon meaning rather than just swapping it out for one that is simply stronger from the get go. In this perfect game I'm thinking of in my head legendary's wouldn't catchable, you take then down using all of your pokemon (because you need to, it's a freaking legendary) and maybe gain some sort of perk for your trainer, like a stat boost for any pokemon you use.
Of course part of the fun of the game is catching the legendaries and removing that from the current game model would lessen it dramatically.

Firstly, I'd fix everything they fucked up in 4th gen. Fix the contests, secret bases, Special/Physical attack system, and use the bottom screen for something more than that stupid friggin watch.

Next, I would stop making the game and realize that the series should have ended after 3rd gen.

Finally, I'd play Pokemon Crystal again.

BRAINFART!

Do the whole online thing where everyone you meet is another player and you can become a gym leader/elite four member if you get good enough and want to, but during battles (WHICH WILL ONLY BE SINGLE-BATTLES) you do a sort of Soulcalibur/Tekken type deal where you take control of the Pokemon itself, and have the bumpers (R1,2 L1,2) be connected to the Pokemon's attacks!

Well, right off, I'd say that the names are a bit... bland. Black and White? Why not Pokémon Ebony and Ivory? Anyway...I haven't been keeping up on the new changes, so if these are happening, sorry for bringing them up... but triple-typed pokémon would be real sweet, like Charizard being a Fire/Flying/Dragon (well maybe not retroactively changing Pokémon, but still). A new type or two would be awesome, also, not since Gen 2 that they added any. Maybe this'll piss off the "hardcore" Pokégamers, but make EVs and the other hidden traits FRIGGIN VISIBLE. "Oh, it's just for the true gamers," you say. But I reply, piss off, accessability is a good thing! (And make building you're own PC easier, while you're at it :p) Anyway.... that's about it. I do want to reiterate the passive HM thing... tired of having to carry around a damn lvl. 2 Bidoof for Rock Smash.

Even if Gamefreak doesn't do any of these great ideas that we've come up with, could they at least stop adding more Pokemon to battles and calling it innovation? Triple Battles are not innovative or interesting.

One of my friends brought up this idea to me, and I like it.

You know a game in which your characters have four moves? Pokemon.

You know a game in which your characters have four moves? Super Smash Bros.

Combine the two (SSB as far as the battle system goes), and it would be gold.

Having just consulted my new copy of ONM, I don't know. But I believe the current target is christmas this year.

And the official title is now Golden Sun: Dark Dawn.

Id add more pokemon that aren't related to any of the old ones.

It gets annoying to see evolutions after, if they want to make someone more powerful, just edit their base stats.

*Hopes they make Empoleon even better at defense*

Crap, you beat me to it. Seriously, though. I can't think of a game I would buy faster than that.

I would like to use your environment to your advantage, giving fire types, Grass types and flying types an advantage on a sunny, clear day for example. I'd also love to be able to actually level up my trainer, giving them more knowledge as they goes along will allow them to make better use of their Pokemon's abilities.

The option to join teams would also help, similar to the anime you are allowed to have followers to assist in regular battles and offer support in gym battles. Your followers would be able to level up as well and you should add incentives for teaming up either by accessing unique abilities or allow you to gain trust with them which would help even more in battle. Solo players would get a number of options but those connected would even allow them to team up for a time.

Those things are just suggestions and I'd be happy with or without them but things that do genuinely bug me are sound and saves. First off I'd like to say that the old 8-bit sounds do have their charm but its starting to wear thin, hell even the GBC was able to have voices why does the DS still have to use the same sounds as a game boy?
Second of all, For Fucks Sake WHY can't I have more than one fucking save per cartridge?!? I know some people don't mind it but I'd rather be able to let my friends and family borrow my Pokemon without flushing 150 hours down the toilet!

somthing id like to see that i really wanted to see that hasnt been seen gold and silver, and that would be the ability to go to other regions after you beat the main region. i was excited at the end of ruby because i thought i would be able to go to joto and kento and continue fighting gym leaders, but just dissapointment.

another thing i would like to see is to have more of a choice as to what i want to be. why must i be a pokemon trainer every time, why cant i just be a member of team rocket or galactic or whatever it will be this time.

and my last change, make munchlax a starter pokemon. i dont care for munchlax much but i love snorelax. WOO SNORLAX!!

These sum up my ideas, and I agree with them. Especially the part about Snorlax. SNORLAX FTW!
