"Wow Jeffrey, your Lucario is an asshole." Magnus said to his younger friend. "He shouldn't say those kinds of things about people, at least not when they can hear them."
"Wait, you heard him say all that?" Jeffrey asked Magnus, slightly confused. "How did you? He said it to me...that's weird."
"He was talking to only you? Huh...Maybe it runs along the same lines as to why I can understand Quillz perfectly... Anyway, you guys missed a bit while you were KO'd. As you can see, the media have taken a liking to us, they're calling us heroes and other things similar to that. Unfortunately, I really don't like papparazzi very much." Magnus opened a pokeball and Quake came out from it. He patted the Wooper affectionately on the head, stroking its smooth slimy skin.
"Quake, when I open the door, go out into the middle of that group of people with those cameras...okay?" Quake nodded and Magnus opened the door, revealing a mass of flashing cameras and reporters.
"Hey, it's the guy who shot one of the Rockets." One of the reporters said out loud. "Excuse me, Cerulean City News, what do you have to say about the events that happened earlier this afternoon?"
"Two words... Mud Sport!" Magnus commanded Quake to cover the papparazzi in a thick coating of mud, rendering their equipment useless. The little blue Wooper waddled back over to Magnus and he closed the door behind him.
"There, that should buy us a little peace. Well, you guys anyway..." Magnus walked over to a cushioned chair and plopped himself in it. "I'm trying to get some sleep...I have a criminal hearing tomorrow."
The group looked at him as if they didn't understand what he said.
"What did you say, Magnus?" Rodney asked. "A criminal hearing? What for?"
"Murder, what else? I killed a man, Rodney. It's not something that can be taken lightly...even in defense."
"But you saved our lives and other people's. You shouldn't be getting in any trouble." Aari reasoned. "It doesn't make sense."
"Well, hopefully the court will understand my motive and go easy on me." Magnus told her. "I think everyone should just try to get some sleep, things will be better in the morning...those press-rats can't stay out there all night."
"I hope you're right...good luck tomorrow Magnus." Rodney told him. "You're going to need it."
"Thanks Rodney. Oh, and Happy Birthday." Magnus closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
