Aari looked at herself, her clothes dirty and ripped. She coughed a little and scratched her forehead. She interrupted Rodney and apologized.
?Whichever place is nearer, I need to have a shower? Aari moaned.
She hated being all muddy and tattered but not as much this time. Aari bent down and picked up her bag at her knees. She slung it around her back and stung her wound a little.
?Ouch..? she said, biting her lip. ?Anyway, so where are we going??
Jared came downstairs just as Aari finished talking. "I figured Vermillion would be next. Saffron seems like a bad idea, what with it being held by the Rockets and all, taking down Surge would add another badge. Oh, that reminds me, I'll be back in about a half an hour or so. Tell Joy I'll take some bacon and hashbrowns for breakfast."
Jared headed for the gym, his rested team in tow, the city cleaned up pretty nicely considering it was a battleground not one day ago. He entered the front door and found Erika near the lobby counter, talking with one of the attendants.
"Hey Erika, how you feeling today?" Jared asked casually, leaning against the counter.
"Better, now that the Rockets have departed. I'm guessing you're here for your battle?"
"Well, there's more than just that, but yeah, a battle was top priority. Surprised you're up for it, after everything yesterday."
"I'm more surprised you're here, I heard you killed a guy with a sword."
"Ah, he was a evil bugger, he had it coming. So yeah anyway, you ready?"
"Of course, let's head out to the garden." Erika led the way towards the clearing in the vegetation that would serve as the arena.
"Let's just make this a 2 on 2 battle, OK Jared?"
"Fine by me. Gym leaders first, right?"
"As per the rules. Go Vileplume and Tropius!" Erika tossed her Pokeballs in the air, and out came her two partners, first Vileplume, the evolved form of her first partner, barely keeping its massive petals up. Right behind it was Tropius, the massive dinosaur sporting giant leafy wings on its back and a large bushel of bananas on its neck. "You better not have any Fire pokemon, Jared! Your friends did a number on me with theirs!"
"Don't worry, the sprinkler system won't be getting any action today. Go Sparky, go Shelley!" Jared let out his newly evolved Magneton and Cloyster. "Cloyster, cloy." Mmmmmm. Smells pretty in here!
"An electric and a water type? Come on Jared, I was expecting a lot more the way you bragged about your chances," Erika taunted.
"Hey now, you just wait and see how this plays out here." Jared replied. "All right let's go!"
"Tropius, Fly!" The dino beat it's leafs furiously and achieved liftoff, flying high above the combatants.
"Oh no, it's not going to be doing that. Sparky, Thunder Wave." Sparky let a stream of electricity fly and the Flying type was hit, sending it crashing down to Earth.
"Hmmm, I guess I'll just have to take out the weak link first." Erika said. "Vileplume, Razor Leaf Cloyster!" Vileplume shot a torrent of leaves out and directed them towards Shelley.
"Shelley, Protect!" Shelley slammed shut, its shell hardening as the leaves just bounced off. "Atta be! Now use Ice Beam on Tropius!" A torrent of ice shot out from Shelley's spikes towards the fallen dino. A direct hit encased it in a layer of ice.
"Ah no!" Erika cried.
"Tropius is unable to continue, it is eliminated!" said the attendant acting as the referee.
"Darn, I forgot Cloyster had Ice attacks," admitted Erika as she returned Tropius. "OK, new plan, Vileplume, use Foul Gas!"
Vileplume unleashed a torrent of smoky brown gas from its head, enveloping the whole stadium. "Clooooy-cloooyster." Oh my god! It's like even worse than Lavender Pier at low tide! Shelley said, while hiding in a weak attempt to block out the stench.
"Holy hell!" Jared exclaimed covering his nose with his shirt. "It's like if someone filled an old shoe with sour milk and Indian food! I think my eyes are watering."
"Haha, Vileplume's stink will take any competitor out of the game." Erika noted. "You're done, Jared!"
"Cough, ah, I may not be able to smell anything but stank for a week now Erika, but you overlooked one thing!" Jared said pointing skyward. "You're fighting a machine! Oh my god, this is horrendous!"
"MAG-NE-TON!"WHY IS JARED COWERING LIKE THAT? IT IS ONLY FOG!
"Sparky! Sonic Boom Vileplume!" Jared choked out. The sonic waves hit home, knocking Vileplume off balance, and disrupting it's spraying. The smell started to weaken.
"Now, while you can Shelley! Ice Beam one more time!" Shelley opened up slightly and forced an Ice Beam out. It hit its target, making a Plumesicle out of Erika's remaining Pokemon. The fog finally cleared with the source incapcitated.
"Vileplume is unable to battle. Jared is the victor!" the attendant announced.
"Oh thank god!" Jared said, taking a huge breath after retreating from his shirt.
"Sigh, oh well, that was a good battle, I was feeling way too cocky not having to face a Fire or a Flyer, that I let my oversight get the best of me. Here you are Jared, the Cascadebadge." Erika said, handing a small pin to the winner.
"Sweet, thanks Erika." Jared replied, tucking it in the case.
"You know, I wish I could travel like you and all the others could. Fighting the Rockets was invigorating, and seeing Kanto and all its sights would be good for me, but the duties of a Gym Leader are all encompassing." Erika said, sighing ever so slightly.
"Well, you know, I may be able to help out. Why don't you give me your Poketch number, and I can send you pictures and stuff and tell you how our travels are going." Jared offered. He quickly jotted down his number on a paper, ripped it in half and passed it to Erika.
"That would be really nice," Erika agreed, snatching the other half of the paper from Jared's hand, writing her number down and giving it back. "I'll be expecting something soon, you know. If you don't send me anything, I'll find you and dunk you in Vileplume juice!"
"Don't worry, I think we're heading to Vermillion next, so I'll be able to send some pictures of the beach and the Cruise ships and stuff! Anyway, I better get back, I think the guys are heading out soon, so I'll be talking at ya, OK?" Jared said as he headed out the door.
"All right! Say hi to the guys for me!" Erika shouted as she slowly headed back towards the garden.
Jared looked down at the paper with Erika's number on it. "Huh, maybe things are finally starting to look up after all." As he headed back for the Pokemon Center, the sun poking out from the clouds.
If you two are going for Aari, I'm claiming Erika right now. Easily the pick as the Cerulean sisters are too ditzy and Sabrina's too creepy.
jeffery was still a little woozy from donating some of his blood the food at the gym restored most of his strength but he was still a little off-balance and was slightly delirious.
"I don`t know but it has to have pie every location needs pie" jeffery yelled his voice becoming a slur.
"god how long will he be like this" lucario asked anyone who would listen.
"he`ll be right after a good nights sleep...hopefully" Joel said slightly grinning at jeffery who was bending over to look at the leaves.
"hey a stick that is so cool" jeffery picked up the stick and eyed it closely. "yep that`s a stick I`m keeping it" jeffery put the stick in his pocket.
"okay we all know jeffery`s an idiot and helped nothing at all, but the question still remains where are we going"
lucario asked.

Wait, if we're still at Joel's house, why doesn't Aari shower there? And If we're on the road, why do people keep referencing still being in Celadon? I'm sooooo confused
Let's just say that we're still in Celadon... That way everyone can get fully prepared for the upcoming journey and we can outline our itinerary. That and plot development.
OoC:Ok back in the middle of Celadon so that way prior posts make sense.
Rodney despite being as muddy as everyone else opted against a full-on shower because all his bruises and cuts, instead he just wiped himself off with a warm wet towel, which din't quite do the trick so he knew what Aari meant.
"Vermillion...yeah" He thought to himself How did I not notice before? Both Magnus and Joel like Aari! heheh K-I-S-S-I-N-G, first comes love then comes marriage then comes a baby sitting in a carriage!... In all honesty Aari knows how to handle herself but I worry what happens if she gets captured.
Rodney ran to the nereby grocery store and bought some food for the journey and some meat for Chompers, he had to convince the clerk to let him pay.
Upon exiting he asked "Hey guys,I wonder how Jared is going in his gym battle?"
Aari walked over to Rodney and started to whisper in his ear.
?About earlier, I?ve been having dreams? About Jirachi?
She walked back to where she was standing and put on the bag properly. She walked near to Magnus and shot him a glance. She laughed and awaited if they were going to go check on Jared.
"hey that was`nt nice you cheated" jeffery said pointing at Aari.
"jeffery you wanna go check on Jared with me because you seem like you can`t be left alone" Aari asked.
"sure why not I`ve got nothing but time and oxygen" jeffery slurred rocking back and forth getting up from his chair he slung his bag over his shoulder and waited for anyone else.
"I`l come to someone`s gotta keep an eye on jeffery and stop him from hurting himself and others" lucario told Aari walking over to jeffery trying to keep him steady.
I'm probably the one that messed everything up in the first place. I went Pokemon Center after the battle, and if you guys went house, then it's my fault. What can I say? You only get two hours of internet a day and you spend most of it cranking out a post like that, stuff gets missed. My bad. But I guess it can be fixed. I'll wait till Aari and Jeffrey get started though, if you want.
"oh you are so on I outran bullies in canalave so I know how to run" jeffery then walked next to Aari and started counting "okay 3..2..GO" jeffery bolted off getting a headstart.
"hey wait up" Aari shouted chasing after jeffery.
"can`t catch me I`m like greased lightning" jeffery turned back wards but due to his off balance he veered off the path and turned around just in time to slam directly into a tree Aari ran past him.
"okay sure, dang trees I swear they`re out to get me" jeffery chuckled grabbing Aari`s hand and pulling himself up and continuing down the path.
"so Aari we don`t talk much you and I, I mean just the two of us except for that time in celadon but I try to forget about that" jeffery looked down at the ground.
"yeah most of our interaction is me laughing at the stupid things you`ve done like running into that tree" Aari laughed. lucario who had just caught up to them due to the fact that he was walking walked up next to jeffery.
"oh hey lukie" jeffery grinned waving at lucario.
"you better still be delirious or else those will be your last words" lucario showed his teeth and raised his fist.
"oh come on don`t you want a name I mean there pretty fun to have" jeffery retorted.
"no, names are for the weak who let there words do the talking" lucario growled at jeffery.
"alright lucario if you wanna be like that fine so anyways Aari what were we talking about" jeffery laughed turning to face Aari.
"I don`t know we have nothing in common actually I mean I was raised in gang-controlled canalave you were raised in picture of perfect society cerulean we are just two very different people" jeffery told Aari.
"oh here we go again he always uses the fact that he was raised in a slum to get girls give it up man" lucario shouted Aari laughed.
"you are a very horrible wingman if we were trying to pick up girls" he turned to Aari "which I`m not" he turned back to lucario "I would have stopped using that story because it never worked in sinnoh and I don`t think it`s gonna work here" jeffery muttered to lucario just loud enough for Aari to hear.
"oh yeah I remember you were actually kicked out of a place because you tried that story on every girl in there and none of them bought it" lucario sniggered.
"hey don`t make me put you back in you-know-where" jeffery told lucario who immediately quietened down, jeffery then turned to Aari "yeah well,yeah as I was saying we are to very different people but anyway I feel like a barely know you tell me about yourself Aari what`s it like living in Aari`s world" jeffery asked laughing at the end of his sentence.
?Well, my perfect society isn?t so perfect. Both of my parents died and I had to live with my aunt. Soon enough, my aunt died. Soon after that, I met you guys? Aari said, turning back and looking at Magnus in the distance. She turned her head back around.
?I hope the next place we visit has a pool. I?m in dying need to swim. I guess I miss Cerulean.? Aari softly said.
She turned to Jeffery who was listening intently to her. She smiled slightly.
"eh nothing really much to say I was raised in canalave not a nice place gangs running around trying to take over it was hell but I did what I had to do and I survived the less said the better, well what with all the gangs I had to learn to defend myself so I took up a couple of fighting styles it was good I the got my starter Mr.attitude himself lucario back as a riolu" jeffery pointed his thumb over his shoulder at lucario I then went out on my journey as a Pokemon trainer went out fought some battles collected a couple of Pokemon using my usual method of hiding and leaping out for a surprise attack but then something happened it shook me up so I decided to take a trip here but within five minutes of getting off the boat Trevor you know Trevor right who was still a crook at the time stole an old lady`s purse so being the all round nice guy that I was chased after him so did someone else that person just happened to be Rodney we chased after him and then through that chase we met magnus and Jared so yeah that`s how I got to be in this mess" jeffery laughed "but you know what I only have one regret" jeffery told Aari.
"what`s that" Aari asked
"I never got to take a swim at the beach" jeffery laughed so did Aari. jeffery who noticed Aari looking at magnus earlier finally decided to call her up on it. " I saw the way you looked at magnus earlier I think you two would make a great couple"
"what I was`nt looking at magnus in any way" Aari said shocked.
"It`s okay hey if you can use your um how do I put this nicely...assets to work and we put up where we`re going to a vote maybe we could go to vermilion with a big beach and crystal blue waters" jeffery spread his hand out waving it in front of him slowly.
"what no I`m not going to manipulate people to get my own way" Aari responded shocked.
"well just think about it I mean hell what have we got to lose" jeffery shrugged with a smile on his face.
Aari was shocked and a little embarrassed. She rubbed her elbow and came to a complete stop. Her mouth almost made a perfect O shape. She stomped her foot and glared at Jeffery.
?My assets? You better not mean what I think you mean.? Aari said.
