Pokemon RP Slots closed Chapter 11: I'm on a boat!

Magnus approached Alan while the others were preparing. Taking him aside, Magnus spoke to him.

"I get the feeling that you aren't exactly thrilled to go hiking up a volcano... I can understand that." Magnus empathized. "However, I'm also getting the feeling that... Well, that you're having second thoughts about us. If you need to say something... You can tell me."

"No. I'm fine, really." He feigned a smile, "I'm just worried about the walk. I'm more of a swimmer, you know? Mountains aren't really my forte." Alan figured that Magnus had enough to deal with at the moment, adding to his fears wouldn't be fair to him.

"Let's just get it over with. We might be able to get down the other side and to the nearest town before night if we're quick."

"Alright..." Magnus said after talking to Alan. "If you do ever want to talk... I've got ears."

Magnus walked to the room where Rodney lay sleeping. He shook the boy violently, trying to wake him up.

"Rodney! Wake up! We've got to get going, otherwise it'll take all day." Magnus pulled the covers off of Rodney in an attempt to rouse him.

"Oh that's lovely." Magnus said sarcastically, in reference to the morning wood Rodney was sporting... "Not something I want to see in the morning..."

With Rodney still not waking, Magnus turned to his greatest tactic.

"Time to poke Rodney until he wakes up." Magnus began to poke Rodney until he woke up.

"Oi! What do you think you're doing?" Rodney screamed.

"Poking you till you wake up" Magnus replied in a very matter-of-fact tone.

Rodney grumbled something incoherently before getting out of bed, as he touched the door handle he quickly looked down to check something.

"Yep, almost walked up a volcano in my singlet and shorts." Rodney said, having grown accustomed to forgetting things in the morning.

Magnus was waiting for him outside the room,

"Ready to climb a volcano?"

"Not really, figured I'd tie a rope to Slicer's leg, tell him there's a fight to be had at the top and just hold on for dear life." Rodney joked back.

After leaving the Pokemon Center, the group began walking towards a transit that would take them to the foot of the mountain. While they were walking, they had their first chance to take in the city more slowly.

Much of the city on the Island was still being reconstructed, with construction crews working on incomplete buildings and roads. Although it had been two years since the reconstruction projects began, it would still take another few years for Cinnabar Island to return to its former self.

They reached the stop for the shuttle, and waited for a few minutes before it arrived. The group boarded the shuttle-bus and rode to the base of the mountain, the volcano that destroyed an island less than four years ago.

"huh it`s kind of cool,we`re getting a ride right up to one of the most destructive powers in the world" jeffery let out a small laugh as he stared out the shuttle bus window.

"hey we`ve done it before" lucario said a smirk on his face.

"true,but at least the volcano is`nt armed with several weapons and an army of goons" jeffery replied still staring out the shuttle window.

Once the bus had stopped at the small outpost at the bottom of the Volcano, the passengers made their way off of it. When Magnus stepped off of the bus, he took a long, deep breath.

"Mm... Some fresh air after being in those towns." He pulled a few Pokeballs from his belt, releasing Quillz, Reynard, and Red from their Pokeballs. "Alright guys... We're at a Volcano today. Be sure to keep an eye out for a Fire Stone for Reynard."

"Typhlosion." "Got it." Quillz and Red said together.

"Vul vulpix? Vulpix, vuulll?" "A Fire Stone?" Reynard asked. "You're going to evolve me?"

"Yeah... Are you excited?" Magnus asked.

"Vulpix... Vulpix, Vulpix?" "A little bit... I'll be bigger, won't I?"

"You will... You'll also be stronger and faster." Magnus patted the small fox-Pokemon on his hair-curls.

"Vulpix! Vulpix!" Alright! Let's go then!

Alan looked to the base of the mountain and craned his neck upwards so he could see the top.

"It's not that big. I bet we'll be over it way faster than you think." Staryu chirped happily, whilst hopping up and down to get himself psyched for the hike, "We'll be up and down before we know it."

The trainer laughed incredulously. "Yeh, and I'm the ruler of Johto."

Staryu stopped hopping for a moment. "But you said yourself that we'd be over it by day's end if we were quick."

"That was before I saw the volcano." He sighed then crouched down to offer Staryu his shoulders. The star Pokemon jumped aboard and pointed to the volcano. "Onwards and upwards!"

"In a sec." Alan threw a Pokeball to release Magneton. Almost ingeniously, Alan had put a block of metal in his pack so that Magneton would be able to carry it effortlessly. He smiled as Magneton picked up the bag, glad that the hike was starting on a good note at least.

"Now onwards and upwards!"

Once the group had properly stretched, they set up the trail for the top of the Volcano. The path led up the mountain for a fair bit, then about a mile along it split into two different areas, one for people wanting a nice easy trek, and another for the more adventurous.

"Let's go!" Dani yelled from atop Norbert's shoulders. Norbert happily carried the lightweight girl, more energetic in the local environment. Magnus's own Fire-Types were benefiting from the air here. "Come on you Slowpokes! You're not going to let Norbert beat you up the mountain, are you?"

"Not a chance, Dani!" Magnus yelled happily. Quillz hefted him upon her back, and began running after the pair, with Red carrying Reynard shortly behind them. Magnus shouted back at the group: "Are the rest of you coming or not?"

Brandon jogged after Norbert, Dani, and Magnus. "Well now this should be fun." He said still looking at the mountain.

After about ten minutes of racing, Norbert, Quillz, and Red were tired of running, so they stopped.

"This seems like a good place to rest..." Magnus said to Dani and the Pokemon. He looked down and saw the others were about five or six meters below them, going up the path. "Let's take a breather and wait for the others to catch up."

Brandon was wheezing by the time he caught up with Dani and Magnus. "Man*pant*" I need to find a pokemon I can ride on *pant* otherwise I may not make it up anymore mountains."
