"Yeah, I'm going to raise it. Just because it's curious doesn't mean it's stupid." He took out his pokedex and scanned the pokeball that had his new catch in it. "It's a boy...and its attacks are Water Gun, Mud Sport, Mud Shot, and Slam...I say that's a pretty good catch..What do you think Quillz?" She nodded at him and smirked at Rodney.

"Quil..Quilava." Yeah, he's acceptable.

"See? She thinks he's a good capture."

The crossed the river carefully, and the five of them made it to the Cerulean Gym, hoping that one of the four Gym Sisters was there waiting for them.
"Go on Rodney, check if someone's there." Magnus told him.

Jeffery had been with the group this whole time but kept his mouth shut until now he walked over next to Aari and extended his hand in a gesture of friendship
"hi I`m Jeffery I`m the resident nut job around here oh and this is my Pokemon riolu" Jeffery then picked up riolu and put him on his shoulder, riolu then extended his hand out to the togepi on Aari`s shoulder.

Aari had a lot to sink into her average sized head. As they stared at the Cerulean Gym Aari felt a tip on her shoulder, she turned around and saw Jeffery introducing himself.
?Haha, I?m Aari? she replied shaking Jefferys hand. ?That?s a cute Riolu? Aari laughed.
Magnus had told Rodney to go into the gym and Aari decided to go with him.
?Hey Aari? Rodney smiled.
?Hey, I thought I?d tag along? Aari smirked.
They walked into the gym and waited at the front desk.
?I see the way you look at Magnus? Rodney said, his expression like he was about to pull a prank. Oh no, what am I supposed to say? Aari thought. She could tell she was blushing.

?Hey guys. Any sign of a gym leader?? Trevor asked running to the pair.
Rodney turned to Trevor and poked at him a bit hard.
?Not yet? Aari whispered, obviously embarrassed but relieved.
?She is now? Daisy sprang.
?Hey Daisy? Aari said, highering her voice a little but not looking up.
?Hey, I want to challenge you? Rodney yelled.

Aari walked outside to Jeffery and Magnus. She sat by the water away from them.
Aari put Togepi down. He paddled in the very shallow end and started singing.
?I guess that?s all ya? need me for? Aari said, getting up and fixing her hair.
?Tell Rodney I said good luck? Aari said, turning towards the water.
?She threw out a Poke ball, letting out a Seel?

Jeffery turned to magnus and poked him in the ribs
"what do you want" magnus said turning to face Jeffery.
"what`s with this new girl I mean in times like these can we honestly trust her something just does`nt sit right ,what with us instantly accepting her into the group" Jeffery said a small amount of concern on his face.
"don`t worry she seems alright a little odd but alright" magnus said turning to look over at Aari who was letting her Seel and togepi have a little swim in the nearby pool.
"I don`t know" Jeffery said turning his attention over to Aari as well.

"Well its not like you travelling in the best of company anyways Jeff, just give her a chance"

"okay fine one chance It`s just weird how you know someone for a whole 4 hours and then be expected to trust them" Jeffery said turning his head back to the gym.
"I wonder how Rodney`s gym battle is going I`m gonna go check it out" Jeffery said getting up and walking over to the gym.

Aari pondered through her thoughts. This was an unusual thing for her. Blocking the three-way conversation that was taking place Aari looked at Togepi and Seel. The two Pokémon were playing with each other, Seel balancing Togepi on his head like a ball.
This scene made Aari smile. In the distance she had seen a blue head bobbling up and down. Just before identifying this ?blue head? Aaris thoughts were cut short. The boys were staring at her. She felt odd, was it her hair? Or was her make-up running? Aari turned away blushing again. ?I?m gonna check on Rodney? Jeffery yelled running into the gym.

Aaris attention focused on the blue head that was quite closer. Too close actually. Next were the eyes. The cute eyes, Aari focused harder until she identified what it was.
?Oh my god. It?s a Poliwag!? Aaris face beamed with excitement. She looked at Magnus and Trevor. ?You just caught a Wooper and you have some alien Pokémon so this one is mine? Aari said. The small Poliwag was standing in the shallow water. Togepi and Seel came running to Aari again. ?Alright Seel, lets do this? Aari swallowed and prepared.

?Okay Seel, use tackle? Aari yelled, quite confident in her choice of moves.
The little Poliwag just jumped over Seel.
?Mmkay, try Aurora Beam? Aari yelled, considering Seels other moves.
The beam hit Poliwag right in the stomach and sent it flying into Aaris arms.
?Awww?
Aari gently tapped her poke ball on Poliwags head, capturing it?

OoC: I'll handle your battle stormcaller.

"So you like Water-types, huh?" Magnus asked Aari, "That's interesting." He took a look at the Seel and studied it in the water. "Your Seel is in good shape, it has very good features for his species. His fins are bit larger than most, though, and so is his horn. However, that's not necessarily a bad thing."
"How do you know that?" Aari asked curiously.
"In school I studied Biology, I know a good specimen of a Pokemon when I see one." He replied to her.
"That's pretty cool, must come in handy when you're wondering if you want to catch a Pokemon."
"Well, I'll have to get back to you on that." He said smiling. "I wonder how Rodney's battle is going."

Rodney stood in front of an arena that was surrounded by water, except for the two platforms upon which they stood.
"Alright, my gym means my rules." Daisy said in her sweet voice. "Let's make this a two-on-two gym battle. One pokemon at a time, and, since I'm nice, you can switch between Pokemon as you see fit."

"Sounds fine to me. Let's do this." Rodney agreed to the terms and took his place.

"I'll choose first. Go, Staryu!" Daisy called out her pokemon.

"Hmm...Go Speedy!" The small purple Rattata took an aggressive stance as it beamed out of the Pokeball. "Speedy, Quick Attack!" Speedy charged at the Staryu and hit it in the center gem.

"Staryu, Water Gun!" The water hit Speedy in the face and soaked her fur. It shook itself dry and took its stance again.
"Speedy, Bite!" Speedy jumped and latched onto the Staryu. The Stary swung Speedy back and forth, trying to get her off of its points. "Speedy, Quick Attack..and don't let go!" Speedy charged jumped up and charged at the ground. "Now, Tackle it to the ground!" Speedy slammed the Staryu on the ground, it was knocked out cold. "Great job Speedy!"
"Staryu return, you did great." Daisy beamed the Staryu was beamed back inside its pokeball. "Go Wartortle! Let's see how you handle this."

Jared watched Rodney's gym battle with great interest. He was unable to get a badge in Pewter, but figured with Nicky still trying to grow, even with Double Kick in his arsenal, he would not have fared well against the rock Pokemon there. However, with a now recovered Magnemite, dubbed Sparky available in his party, he figured that he could get a Cascade badge and at least start building up a collection.

After talking to Magnus about Her Seel, Aari and Magnus headed back to the gym. Of course, during the battle Aari was told to return her Pokémon. She aimed her poke ball at Seel and beamed it up. With Togepi in her hands she entered the battle with Magnus.

?How?s he doing?? Aari asked Jared, who seemed to enjoy the battle.
?It?s going good? he replied, and Jared looked at Aari and smiled.
?Rodney has her now? He said, now focused on the battle.
?Good, I love watching gym battles, well mostly here.? Aari said, looking at Wartortle.
?Daisy?s Squirtle evolved? Aari took a deep breathe. ?Aw, that?s so cute? She said again, much to the laughter of Magnus and Jared. Jeffery didn?t really look at Aari or speak to anyone during the battle. Aari wondered if she had done something wrong.

?I?m gonna go get a drink? Aari said, walking nicely out of the gym. The front room of the gym was nice. The walls were a blue, not as shiny as Aari?s eyes but a nice blue. Aari walked towards the vending machine. She put in 50c and got back a cool soda.
?Finally? She said, drinking the soda. Aari heard a bang in the gym and ran in?

a water gun smashed into speedy causing a loud bang causing water to fly everywhere and sending speedy into the water.
"god damn it" Jeffery said ringing out his now soaked clothes as he stopped ringing out his clothes he noticed Aari running back to see what it was he glanced at her with an air of suspicion for around half a second without her noticing.

speedy was struggling to stay afloat his head bobbing up and down in the water, obviously in a state of panic speedy was flailing around in the water.
"keep a level head speedy and get closer to me" Rodney commanded,speedy followed suit and swam back to his trainer as fast as he could
"okay back in you go" Rodney threw speedy`s poke-ball and resealed him.
"chompers I choose you" Rodney yelled throwing his poke ball into the water releasing chompers into the water.
"wartortle in for a swim you go" daisy said with a smile on her face, wartortle obliged and dived in after chompers making this an awesome aqua battle their two shapes colliding in the water in a battle of pure power, eventually the two Pokemon surfaced and were locked in a contest of strength...

Aari came in running. She was met with water gun recoil. She heard some of the guys complaining about being wet and laughed. She came walking to the guys again. Rodney sent out Chompers into the water and he started playing. Rodney?s hand went to the back of his head as he apologized to Daisy. She laughed.

Aari sat watching the water Pokémon. Behind her was Rosgry, watching intently beside Trevor. Aari noticed Jeffery and Magnus were Very focused on the match.

?Wow, you sure do take this battle stuff serious? Aari commented in a light voice.
?Yeah? Jeffery snarled not looking at Aari.
She planned to confront him about what?s wrong but couldn?t find the right time.
?After the battle? Aari whispered to herself.
?Huh?? Magnus asked looking at Aari.
?I don?t know, I didn?t say anything? Aari said, probably blushing again.

Chompers was matching the Wartortle blow for blow, as the two changed between land and water combat. Both Pokemon were Water-type biters, and both were skilled in their battling, as were their trainers.

"Chompers, use Bite and don't let go!" Chompers latched onto Wartortle's arm, causing it to growl in pain. "Good job, keep it up."

"Wartortle, Rapid Spin now!" The Wartortle retreated into its shell and spun around, freeing itself from Chompers' jaws and doing a small amount of damage as well.

"Use Water Gun!" Both trainers cried out as their Pokemon obeyed. The blasts were equal in strength and negated each other when they collided. When the water disappeared, Chompers wasn't where he was when he launched the attack. Magnus saw a red crest in the blast of the water and Chompers was in the air, aimed for an attack.

"Wartortle, Withdraw!" Wartortle withdrew into its shell as Chompers bore down on it with its jaws. Suddenly, Wartortle become encased in a shell of ice once Chompers had bitten it.

"No way," Magnus exclaimed. "Already?" Magnus opened up his Pokedex, and just as he thought, it was an Ice Fang. Wartortle was in some deep trouble if it didn't thaw out soon.

"Chompers, Bite it and Water Gun to the ground!" Chompers latched onto the frozend Wartortle, jumped up, and Water Gun'd it straight into the floor of the Gym, breaking the ice and sending Wartortle into a daze.

"Congratulations, you have beaten me. For that, you win the Cascade Badge." Daisy walked over to Rodney and presented him with the blue teardrop-shaped badge.

"Thank you, Daisy. I had a fun battle, thank you." Rodney thanked the Gym Leader.
The rest of the group congratulated Rodney on his second victory and left the Gym proudly.

"Well, now what?" Magnus asked the group. "Now that Rodney's got his badge, do you guys still want to be in the city? Personally, I wouldn't mind staying here for another day or two. I hear there's a good Bicycle Shop here, and mine needs a little tune-up. Hey Aari, do you mind showing me there?"

"Oh no, I don't mind. I'd be glad to." She smiled at Magnus, expecting herself to blush.

"Great, I just need to get my bike from the Pokemon Center and I'll be set to go. Come on, Rodney needs to heal his Pokemon too." Magnus replied to her.
The group arrived at the Pokemon center and did what they needed being done. Magnus walked back around front with his Bicycle where Aari was waiting.
"Sorry I kept you. Let's go." The two walked towards the Bike Shop just a few blocks down from the Pokemon Center.

Jeffery hung around the front of the gym whereas everybody else had gone off to explore the town, he started skipping rocks along the water and muttering to himself.
"I wonder where Aari if that is her real name, run off to in the middle of the battle would`nt put it past her that she was calling in team rocket to come and get us,shoot she`s probably planning on killing us while we sleep traitorous *****".

"Hey Magnus," Aari said to him. "Is it just me, or does Jeffrey not like me?" She had a slight frown as she asked it.

"I think it's just a trust issue." Magnus answered her, being honest. "He's a little bit eccentric, yes. A little paranoid, yes. But he's really harmless, it'll just take him a while to trust you. It took all of us a while to get to where we are with each other... especially Trevor, but that's another story."

"What about you, Magnus? Do you like me?" She found herself blushing brightly, unable to stop herself from what she said.

"Uh..." Magnus stammered a little bit. Did she mean like or like? "I think you're a nice girl, I'm sure that we'll be friends."

"Good, I'm glad." Aari said gladly.

"So, Aari...have you lived in Cerulean your whole life, or you from another area originally?" Magnus asked, trying to keep the conversation alive.

Jeffery was still muttering to himself and throwing rocks and eventually grew bored of this and remembered that he had`nt had a training exercise with his Pokemon in a while he decided now was a better time than ever cause he needed to clear his head, he got riolu out of the pool and and released his newest Pokemon a machop the machop was about twice as tall as riolu and half as tall as Jeffery,Jeffery explained the exercise to machop and he seemed to follow along with a little bit of difficulty once machop understood they commenced their exercise: a session of tai chi.
"tai chi is a way to release all the bad energy and push your body to it`s full potential" jeffery said in between breaths as the tai chi session went on more and more trainers passed him giving him some odd looks and some even joined in!. eventually at least ten trainers were copying Jeffery`s movements, Jeffery the whole time being oblivious to this as he was completely focused on his own exercise.
