I am not impressed. Not that the pokemon look bad (the Black one looks pretty sweet), but with the title "Legendary"....They've already made a God pokemon, how much more powerful can it get?
This is precisely how I feel. I mean, they started with "Legendaries are strong" then went to "Legendaries control the elements" until finally "Legendaries control space, time, alternate dimensions, and EVERYTHING". Unless these two can control Arceus, then the Pokemon Company has backed itself into a bit of a corner. Not a large one, mind you.
What corner? Why are people complaining that, just because of Arceus, any legendary from this point on is pointless because it might not be on Arceus' level?
Legendary Pokemon are, like you said, either strong, symbolic, or have control over something (or, you know, are rare/limited). Just because there is now a "God" Pokemon does not mean that any legendary henceforth is in its shadow, in a corner, or pointless.
With that being said, I actually like these two legendaries. It is actually the first time where I didn't come up with a clear decision on 'which box-art Pokemon is the best.' (but at this point, I will probably be going with White version)
Due to Isshu being a more modern/technological society, Zekrom's metallic looking structure can represent maybe artificial creation. Reshiram looks to be more organic in design.
Unlike previous generations, there is going to be more of a difference between the two versions than exclusive Pokemon, whatever that means. Also, they are confirmed to both be half dragon-type. Probably going to be Psychic/Dragon and Dark or Steel/Dragon.
