Back in the days of Red and Yellow I used to have Lapras on my Red team and Butterfree and Nidoqueen in Yellow.
I had a Pelliper, Mightyena in my ruby team and my Hariyama is the lvl 50 Pokemon I used in the battle tower. I had also trained a Walrien and Glaice for the purpose of capturing Rayuaza (I had used my Master ball so I was counting on freezing it to give me the better chance of a capture). I think I had also train non evolve pokemon like Skarmory and Ralicanth to a fair high level as well.

Lanturn. I don't know what Smogon has against Lanturn, but I love that little fishy flashlight. I never see it around.

Leavanny, one of the new ones. It's Bug/Grass, which you wouldn't think was that great... but it is. It really is. Entrainment is a deceptively evil attack.

Deerling. Yeah, maybe some other people are training it too... but it's just so bloody cute! and it can Jump Kick!

Exeggcute. Going to evolve it eventually, but I'm experimenting with its new Harvest ability.

I didn't realize I liked Grass type so much...

-Zangoose

Back before the move split, Zangoose had strong underused potential. Especially since my friends thought Toxic was the best thing since sliced bread.
Not so sure about that now with all the one-hit-kill blitzers and Garchomps about.

-Hariyama

Turned out to be surprisingly good for duels (again, back in 2004/05). Versatile movepool and a massive HP pool. Probably my favorite counter-whore this side of Wobbuffet (who shouldn't be legal anyway).

I trained a bidoof in Ruby. I am one of those guys that catches a pokemon, levels it up, and doesn't catch another one because it's lower level or doesn't look cool enough.

Then I realized Bidoof was the fucking Ratatat of that game, and I facepalmed myself, staring at my lvl 73 evolved bidoof, that could nail down the whole elite four by himself.

I also trained a minum... because I thought it would evolve at some point... lvl 80 minum is still sitting on my PC...

And a pelliper... Goddamnit, I've edited this post 3 times already. What kind of stupid fucking shit team I had in Pokemon Ruby? Holy shit. I even chose Mudkip before it was cool to have it. God damnit

Hmm, I leveled a Leafeon in Platinum, I don't know many people who used that. Although I now use Whimsicott instead.

I also used Quaqsire.

Oh I also had a Corpish in Saphire:3

I once had an Ursaring a with the three elemntal punches on Gold; I needed something that was super effective against Claire. It was actually pretty awesome.
Once had a Forretress in the late 50s; no idea why, it wasn't that good other than the fact it was steel.
Sandslash was awesome, especially when spamming sand-attack.
Kingler is actually pretty decent for a water type, even if he learns few water moves.
I remember back in the days of Blue and Red my sister used a Raticate in the Elite 4; man those super fang attacks were nasty...

My little Shuckle. I made that thing badass.

Badass
I think you should edit the urban dictionary definition of badass(I think its safe for me to assume there is one) to include that picture.

I recently decided it'd be interesting to play Pokemon Red with ONLY poison pokemon both as a challenge and to experience pokemon that I'd never otherwise use.

My team: Venosaur, Gengar, Venomoth, Tentacruel, Golbat, Nidoking

Sabrina will either be the ultimate roadblock or the grandest victory.
Those are actually poison/grass, poison/ghost, poison/bug, poison/water, poiston/flying, and poison/ground.

You were thinking something like nidoranM/F or Nidorino maybe even Nidorina.

Also got Ekans and Arbok those silly slithering dudes.

Maybe a grimer or a Muk if you enjoy a pokemon that flips off your foes (sadly I don't believe he is doing that anymore).

If you want to get "new school" grab yourself a Trubbish.

;).

Hacker.
Excuse me what.
Bidoof first showed up in Diamond and Pearl. These games came after Ruby and Sapphire. So it is highly unlikely that you were using it in Ruby...even if you were a hacker.
