I'm calling bullshit on pretty much every post in this thread.

1. No credible link to prove.
2. Mysterious 'they' instigating changes.
3. This stuffs just to ludicrous.

Please though, prove me wrong.
I would have to say the worst I have ever heard was banning Noddy because it had gay connotations. Just read:

Source: http://www.abc.net.au/pm/stories/s68163.htm

It was decided that Noddy was a closet homosexual, who'd had countless on-screen trysts with his live-in lover Big Ears right before our eyes.
EDIT:

I demand proof! I think i'm about to die a little inside, third time this month actually.
That was the third time I died...

I only dislike Political Correctness when people try to correct me even when I use a word correctly. For example, there was a huge lineup outside of the store I work at when we opened, and it took a very long time for everyone to get in. I mentioned, "It looks like the line is being retarded".

What this means, is that the line is being slowed by different, outside factors. Not that every single person in the line is mentally incapable.

So the person I say this to gets slightly offended and says that's really rude of me to say. And of course, ignorance of the complexity of the English language is something that's so readily welcomed.

When I read the title, Baa Baa Rainbow Sheep immediately came to my mind. Well played OP.

There's all sorts of ridiculous shit going on. Banning conkers, snowballs, fun. Everyone's just terrified of getting sued. You can easily smash your face open by just falling over whilst walking along the pavement.

If you ask me, I'd say if a kid falls out of a tree then it's a lesson learned. Happened to me a few times, part of the learning process. Shield a child from everything and they're gonna find it hell when they're finally on their own in the world.

Is it only racism if it is towards black people?
No it isn't, it's discrimination if it's towards any race, but as the most famous one is towards black people, that's the one which the press worries about the most, which is just stupid.

the idea of political correctness was ok when it startet-but year after year they add more bs to the list. Wait a couple more years and political correct speech becomes what Orwell named "newspeak" :(

someone wanted to ban all the shopping mall santas from saying "ho ho ho" as they thought it was offensive to women, yeh right fuck off, they wanted to make them say "ha ha ha", it makes me want to slap a politically correct *****.

also someone wanted to ban australian parliament members from addressing others as "mate", fuck you whoever though of that.

I will punch anyone who refers to me as caucasian, vertically challenged or horizontally challenged, I am a skinny white guy and you will refer to me as such.

We've had our share of that in Holland. We have little treats called "Negerzoenen" (There isn't an english word for them, according to Wikipedia they're "Chocolate-coated marshmallow treats"), which translates to "N-wordkisses" (with the exception that the word 'neger' isn't offensive in Dutch unlike the N-word is in English). Those treats appeared to have been renamed to just "zoenen" (kisses) because "negerzoenen" was offensive.

Eventually it ended up to be all a big hoax, though.

I find people who make up their own political correctness just so they can be outraged far funnier than any of the (Largely fictional) "politicaly correct" measures that have been taken.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IYx4Bc6_eE&feature=related I think everyone should watch this because Stewart Lee is completely right on the matter.

The worst one I can think of at the moment is teachers using green pen to mark assignments and exams because the colour red is too confrontational.

They're kids... not bulls.

Whoa, I really liked the "Overthinker" vids. Thoughtful, insightful, and intelligent - the guy should be featured on The Escapist!

In New Zealand feminist groups got manhole changed to personhole. I feel this is kind of retarded because we still use the word mankind, not personkind.
wait, when did we do that? also, is it just me, or does personhole remind you more of arsehole than manhole?

here in the netherlands, we had some cookies that were called: jodenkoeken (means jewcookies in english), it was an official brand, as it were cookies traditionaly baked by jews, and wich, all over the country, almost everybody liked. now, here it comes, some NON jewish person decided to start a court case against that name, as it was *insulting*. where does it ends? Will the next step be on putting a ban on *itallian pizza*?

Fairy penguins being changed to 'little penguins' lest it upset the gay community.

That or the fact they re-wrote, 'What should we do with a drunken sailor?' to 'What should we do with a grumpy pirate?'

Strange...

That seems kind of unlikely, seeing how the word coloured is deemed more offensive than black.
also the fact that a coloured coffe would have milk or cream in it, which is the opposite of what someone wants when they order a black coffee.

There aren't enough palms in the world to perform the necessary amount of facepalms needed to express how retarded that is.
