Go listen to George Carlin for awhile. He's got a few good ones. I think some asshats are calling seatbelts "personal restraint systems" now.
How are seatbelts even remotely connected to any kind of racism or the like???
They aren't in the slightest! But the use of euphemisms is what I was targeting. Also, the old "short people are 'vertically challenged'" thing is pretty absurd.

lol, they rewrote that song? that is hilarious!

I was recently corrected for saying "Third World"... Wasn't extremely funny or anything, i was just surprised at how now it is politically incorrect to say Third World, yet a couple of years ago every politician on the planet was saying it an alarming amount.
That's less political correctness, more to do with fact that no-one even knows what the first and second worlds are anymore...

When I was little, me and my classmates were supposed to sit with our legs crossed on the floor. This was know as "Sitting Indian style". Now, it is offensive. The children must sit "criss-cross Applesauce"

Am I the only one who thinks that all this idiotic political correctness having to do with completely legitimate uses of the word black without any implied connections to actual black people could be solved if people just started using the word negro instead? Why did negro even fall out of favor? Before the 60's negro was the accepted neutral term for black people, without any negative connotations. Replacing negro with black just served to replace it with a new word and created a negative one. The saddest thing is that they both mean the exact same thing in different languages!

Is it only racism if it is towards black people?
Absolutely.
And it's absolutely annoying how that works.

The latter offends me because it is stupid on a truly incredible level.
"I never liked applesauce! They are oppressing my opinions! I demand that they treat me differently because I am a whiny ***** who can't deal with anything that could possibly be interpreted as offensive!" Good god people, call the whaaaaambulance.

I'm calling bullshit on pretty much every post in this thread.

1. No credible link to prove.
2. Mysterious 'they' instigating changes.
3. This stuffs just to ludicrous.

Please though, prove me wrong.
I can't find anything legitimate on the colored coffee claim, but here's a link on "Baa Baa Rainbow Sheep" -- http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/education/4782856.stm

This [http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/jokes/bljokepcredridinghood.htm] is political correctness taken to the max.
That's fantastic, not to mention painfully poignant.

That's so weird. Surely they'd just have two coloured teams like Red vs Blue.

Anyway, it's all about shirts and skins.

"Pact has established that children sing a variety of descriptive words in the nursery rhyme to turn the song into an action rhyme," the charity said in a statement.

"They sing happy, sad, bouncing, hopping, pink, blue, black and white sheep etc and they also exchange boy and girl at the end of the rhyme.

"This encourages the children to extend their vocabulary and use up some energy."

A bit silly, not entirely unreasonable though. Also nothing to do with political correctness.
Reading the story further, a similar move elsewhere that WAS pc motivated was scrapped before being put in.
