Ok, I heard on the news today about a school that was letting kids wear "Fall Harvest" costumes instead of Halloween costumes. If the kids wore Halloween costumes, their parents were called and had to change clothes. Here is what the radio station posted on its facebook.

Welcome to DarcyCountry! A school in Detroit says kids can participate Halloween, but it can't be called Halloween. Excerpt from memo sent to parents: "...in the interest of giving all the option to celebrate without offending, children are allowed to wear fall harvest costumes. Any costume deemed to be Halloween themed will be removed." Does the school have the right idea?
Now I don't see why kids had to be barred from wearing Halloween costumes. I guess its like not being able to say Merry Christmas anymore because it discriminates against people who don't celebrate it. I am starting to believe that the only way to not discriminate is to get RID of EVERY SINGLE HOLIDAY, SPECIAL OCCASION, and MONTHLY CELEBRATIONS. That way no one gets special treatment and no one gets singled out. If people really want to get anal about not being able to say Merry Christmas or not celebrating Halloween, then I say take it ALL AWAY. What do you guys think?
