I find myself agreeing with Stewart Lee when it comes to PC

And I'd like to ask who among here has actually had someone tell them that something they said wasn't PC, because I can't think of a time anyone ever called me sexist for saying policeman or some-such.

Political correctness also seems to have reached mid-term exams as well. I got back my results from my English midterm, it was one of those grammar tests in which you have to mark in a bubble on a scantron to determine whether a sentence is correct or not. There was one sentence where I thought it was right but was actually wrong.:

"In the old days when a librarian helped a student, she would send him to the encyclopedias."

It was grammatically correct, so naturally, I assumed it was correct. According to the teacher however, the sentence is wrong because it's sexist. What the fuck? Since when did sexism determine whether a sentence is grammatically correct or not? I asked the teacher about this and she said it was because the sentence had a stylistic issue or some crap like that.
