Little *****... I hope the father disowns her and refuses to have anything to do with her ever again.
But really... american law is a fucking joke. That judge needs to be fired.
Also if I was an american and had a kid shit like this would change my tactics. Sure, no grounding from now on. Now if you piss me off I will just punch you in the gut. Hurtsl ike fuck but leaves no bruises. No bruising = no case.
I take it you didn't have a very pleasant childhood, Nonny.

I honestly don't know what to say, but I am also curious as to what lead the mother in this situation to allow her daughter to usurp her father's ability to even discipline her while she is in house.

Still flabbergasted that this even made it to court let alone appeals. Should have been an easy "Tough luck, you live with your parents, and are a minor still." I mean, punishment is punishment as long as it doesn't go towards an abusive stage.
To think this is what happens with the global education system every single day.

Teacher tells student what assignment/behavior/guidelines to do...
Student doesn't want to do assignment/behavior/guidelines...
Teacher calls parent...parent is "unavailable"...student knows this...
Student doesn't do assignment/behavior/procedure/guideline...
Teacher lowers student's grade or writes office referral (depending on situation)...
Student complains to parents...
Parents come back to teacher....
Teacher relents or Administration changes student's grade (or rebukes teacher's referral because parents- who are unavailable- were not contacted before referral was written)...

Student learns that classroom guidelines are a joke...administrators don't understand why students are being referred to office...

how in the seven circles of hell did the little tyrant pull that off?
Cause we live in the age of lawsuits, that why schools can't keep order by punishing kids anymore and there are no see saws or monkey bars on playgrounds by me, cause parents sued cause there kid fell off and broke her arm.

I wish this were in America...but it's not (Canadian court). Otherwise it would've been hotly debated on NPR already.
Oops my bad. You hear about fucked up laws and you initially think america. I apologise.
To be honest I was surprised that this didn't happen in America already. Sooner or later it will though- the precedent is set.

Or he is a fan/proponent of Old School punishment, no one ever disobeyed the father in the olden days, it struck fear in your heart, and with fear came respect(or just greater fear). It worked and you had a generation of hard workers/no one was of lesser for it, nowadays you get people who just are allowed to do what they want and voila you get stories like this... :|

Wow. That guy should proably fire that lawyer.
Only problem is, how CAN you defend that case if it allowed to go to arbitration?
Good point. But the real big question is Where did she get a lawyer to represent her.
Any lawyer will represent if you give them money. Whole reason you get the running joke about them all going to hell....
Do you belive 6th grader has enough money to hire a lawyer. Chances are a relative picked up the bill.

See my post right above yours. I think I describe what you mean by this pretty well.

Disown her, we'll see how she likes total freedom.
Seriously. If this were my kid, I'd just be like, "You don't wanna follow my orders? Fine, fuck you. Go live on the street - I hear rape is the new 'how do you do?'"
Hmmm, I like the way you think... *sharpens rusty shovel*

You're not de-railing this conversation at all...these topics are completely interrelated.

Hence my comment a few posts up about the mother allowing this to go through, I bet she saw it as a way to get full custody to set a precedent on how he was a bad father by possibly winning(and won) said case.

Edit: Post above me, yeah, i'm still getting used to the realm of on-topic and off-topic on threads as I am new as said in another thread.

My guess would be the relative who paid for the trip.

I can't take any credit - I was inspired by you.
I'm serious, though. If I ever accidentally have a kid, (and it would be an accident, especially if it survived the abortions,) it would never disobey me.
Ever. I would strike fear into its' very soul.
A rusty shovel would be a useful tool for such a task.

Wait until HER rules of HER house are called into question by the child. If I were the dad, I would set every alimony payment aside to pay her lawyer AGAIN for the eventual backlash. And I will sue to have the court costs paid for from the monthly alimony check as well. If she and her mom can afford a lawyer for this silly a lawsuit, it is obvious they don't need me in the picture, period.

I hope that gets in the news too when it finally happens so we can have a laugh and not a crinch-/wtf-fest
