SPOILER(kinda),So by now everyone has seen at least some of what the movie 2012 is gonna look like how the main character has insight on government plans for evacuation in 2012 end of the world bs. Looks like a cool movie, until nut jobs start mainling in to nasa that they want to know the truth about when the world is gonna end.

I was watching cnn and they were talking with a scientist about the fears, concerns, and threats from people concerning 2012. Nasa even bothered to putin a section on their website just to inform people about all the 2012 shit that is actually gonna happen. I'd kinda like to know does anybody on this site perscribe to this? If the end of the world was somehow proved to be soon would you rather kill yourself before it happened? And astrobiologist does that sound like the coolest job or what?

Btw if someone does believe the world is gonna end don't give em grief.

They predict the end of the world all the time. Unless Yellowstone goes off or we missed a meteor somewhere, I wouldn't be too worried.

On the other hand, if Yellowstone does go off... place your bets. Best hope, human dieback. Worst case? We die out.

even if you're a religious nut job, as far as i know, most religions are AGAINST suicide(except in special cases) , and imply a serious punishment for those that do.

so, how can you, a religious/superstitious person, afraid of going to hell, commit suicide?
when that is a sure-fire way of going to hell or even worse, remain as a ghost or other tortured spirit on earth?

wouldn't you rather, you know, wait for it to happen, and then at least be given a chance to go to heaven/whatever at the judgement moment?


as for me, i don't care, i always leave the option open, just in case, and if it happens, so be it,i'm not scared of smth like that.i'm more scared of an earthquake that might crush my house on me or a car crash or anything else that might happen any given moment of my life..

After reading a bit into this so called prophecy, it dosnt state the world will end just taht something BIG will happen

Going to sound mental in this post, but i honestly get scared by films such as 2012 and The Day After Tomorrow.

It makes me realise it is all possible and that one day (maybe not 2012) we are going to have to watch the world end. No wonder i had that nightmare last night about fighting for my survival as unseen evils tortured my hometown with no way to stop them!

Truthfully i have cried watching The Day After Tomorrow (then again i cried watching the new War Of The Worlds) and if i sat in the cinema to watch 2012 (which i want to) i will probably cry at that. Im just a sucker...

Believe it or not i didn't see shit on this subject in the forums, and i was getting at people threatening to kill themselves and saying the government knows all about the end of the world and isn't telling anybody.

I read somewhere that the leader of the Mayan's is actually sick of being asked about this, he reckons the world didnt end and can they leave him alone to worry about more pressing things, like rainfall for his crops.

Its all utter BS, Nostradamus (spelling?) predicted it, the Y2K bug was supposed to end the world... blah blah blah. The only real conceivable ending I can see is when the sun swells up and swallows the planet up or whatever, tho it'll have cooked us up nice long before that happens, and most importantly, WE WILL ALL BE DEAD BY THEN ANYWAY!
