Something you're unlikely to get on DeviantArt, where people have a tendency only to compliment, not critique. There are other (better) places to find critical analysis of your own work.Chrono212 said:I approve of this idea.
Personally I could would love some more advice and criticism of my 'work'.
yeah, sure they have pics of naked chicks and what not, but i find some good art, and alot of what i practice drawing is up there.Saulkar said:I would personally go for it.
You say that like $10 a month is too expensive.Swifteye said:Lauren Faust has a deviant art account. And so do a lot of professional artist. But a lot of them also have their own personal website. Deviant art is a good way to make connections with lots of budding artist and is a fairly quick way to find and keep track of their activities and projects. A personal website is something that would suit for when you need to present yourself to some serious individuals who want to see you're portfolio and nothing else. Real websites cost money though so yeah. I wouldn't be so quick to bump deviant art like that.
Yes. Well not ten dollars alone. But having monthly payments can be a hassle. We all know the bills and other things we have to pay monthly or bi weekly. Then there's those unexpected expenses that happen from time to time. And then there's the fact that one probably has a couple of subscriptions to stuff already like magazine subscriptions or subscriptions to certain websites. Also while developing a website itself can be fairly cheap it can become rather costly depending on what your doing on the website and what web services you went for. Not to mention web design and things like that. Personally. Money is tight these days so I'm not trying to spend any money on something I can get for free.DeadlyYellow said:You say that like $10 a month is too expensive.Swifteye said:Lauren Faust has a deviant art account. Try starting a sketchbook on ConceptArt.org, try starting a CGHub, CGSociety or really any of the participating sites from the Dominance War competition. Starting a CA.org sketchbook is 100% the best way out of those to get real critiques from both peers and professionals.Chrono212 said:Such as where?
I have the beginnings of a sketchbook.Fightgarr said:Try starting a sketchbook on ConceptArt.org, try starting a CGHub, CGSociety or really any of the participating sites from the Dominance War competition. You can find me on CA.org very easily. I'm an administrator. In particular I'm the admin that runs creature of the week: Si_Swe. Hope things go well for you.Chrono212 said:I have the beginnings of a sketchbook.
I presume you mean the forums on ConceptArt.org.
As for the others they are far above and beyond anything I'm doing at the moment. I've not really got access to 3D modellers nor the experience...yet.
Actually CGHub looks good...
Thanks! If you're on there just look for the guy that sucks. That's me.![]()

Well, it'd be a lie to say there aren't bronies on the site, but you may get nailed in crits for only doing fan art.Chrono212 said:
Quick question.
I've only drawn MLP fan art (I'm so professional) so...wouldn't that be too much, like, crud for CA?
