Meh, I might be interested if I can fix my xbox 360, it red ringed 2 days ago... it's just out of warranty (it went a good 4 years, so it did better than a lot of peoples):S It certainly isn't exciting enough to convince me to buy another console if mine can't be rez'd.

Wars was Sgt. Forge, voiced by Nolan North. Reach's character is being called Noble-6 (sixth member of noble team), though I don't believe his name is revealed yet, but I could be wrong. It's a long article. Halo has a shit story. Money please?

EDIT- oh, I read that wrong. My mistake. You mean the whole Halo universe then. Hell, I dunno, Not Sgt. Johnson, either of the Captain Keyes's, not Cortana, not the Arbiter...do you mean the UNSC as a whole?
Not just the UNSC, the whole damn universe.

The one whos actions are felt in every game, novel and short.

Couldn't you argue that was Dr. Catherine Halsey?
No, she wasn't around during the time of the Forerunners, obviously.
Ahhhh damnit, at least i gave what i thought was a half educated opinion...
My next guess would have been gravemind, but i suppose that would of been completely retarded too...

It looks (And sounds) a bit like the Star Wars Commando series, but I don't really care, I love Bungie, I love Halo, and I don't give a crap about the whole big "Halo" name, as long as the game's fun who gives a crap.

Although Bungie is milking Halo WAY too much, it doesn't really matter, people are still buying? Yes, so Bungie would be a fucktard not to milk it's own franchise dry.

EDIT: And the day Halo Kart Racing comes out I swear I'll stop buying Halo games!

Bungie, I'm happy for you and Imma let you finish, BUT STOP MILKING HALO!
It's milking to release 6 games over the course over 9 years? I think not.

Since when is 6 games milking something?
Final Fantasy is on it's 14th game, Call of Duty is around it's 9th, but why is there so much more bitching for Halo then those? Is it because you dislike it? Is it because you enjoy hating popular things? Because if it is, then the "milking" isn't your problem.

OT: This game looks awesome, from what I saw. I'm excited for a new spin on the franchise.
Because the Human-Covenant War was covered in Halo: CE and Halo 2, the Covenant disbanded in Halo 3, the aftermath of New Mombasa covered by ODST, the earlier battles of the Human-Covenant War covered by Halo Wars. Seriously, they're just milking this shit. I mean, fuck, there was only ONE MAJOR ENGAGEMENT AT REACH, which frankly is detailed in the Halo novels.

all true. however, saying making a prequel is milking it may be somewhat of a stretch. and that one major engagement at Reach arguably had more impact than any other. Making a game where you play through the aforementioned conflict sounds like a good idea, and bare in mind most people will never read the novels (though if your a Halo fan, you really should) so all the people who've played Halo have heard about Reach, but have little idea what actually happened there and the huge impact it had on the war. I'm going to stand by and say "not milking...too much" as each Halo game has served some purpose in the Halo mythos.

You do realize this is their 2nd "prequel"? You make a good point about Reach being an important part of Halo's history. It's really just my opinion that the Battle for Reach shouldn't get a stand-alone game title (though god only knows that the SPARTAN-II program origins deserves a movie).

After Halo Wars, I feel that Bungie is just rehashing the same storyline. Granted, each new game allows players to experience the Human-Covenant War in different ways, but for me it's just a sign of ineptitude when they can't come out with any original material. When I say "milking the franchise", I specifically refer to the Halo universe. Shit, at least Final Fantasy had to come out with entirely new and different universes for each of its games...

Not terribly excited. I like customization. I was let down when I'd read there were only 3 different armor types. I'd be a bit more excited if I knew the coop was 4 players, but we don't know for sure yet.

I really like halo, its just they probably are the game that stays 60$ for like 6 months instead of lowering the price so I picked neutral. Also no flood = win

Well the xbox was the first console I ever owned and Halo was the first console fps I ever played. And it's sort of had a place in my heart due to al the hours I've spent going through the co-op campaigns with my father, playing against or with friends over the console and even that oh so glorious service xbox live. In fact it's thanks to Halo that I've had stronger relationships with newer friends.

So with that said I'm looking forward to reach, and I really hope it can send this classic series out with a bang and not choking on its own bile on the toilet. So with that said you bet!

Also, there was only one WWII, and yet.....

Why do they keep ending the story after each Halo, only to pick it up due to some unexpected twist several months later.. Hire a new story designer and a graphic designer and make a new game for a change!

I'm liking this.

However I liked Halo 2's showing of the Covenant side of thing, in fact I would consider the Arbiter to be better characterised than Chiefy.
I'd agree that he was given more depth than MC (not saying much), but at the cost of the awesome enemy losing most of it's awesomeness. And the brutes were just not as fun to fight against as the elites...take an elite's shield down and they take cover until it comes back up. do that to a brute and they start to cry and charge you.
I would not say the Elites etc. lost they're awesome-ness. They still have their warrior honour and battle skills etc. However, I'll agree that the Covenant lost some of the mystery
that surrounded them. However, it helped understand who they are and why they are fighting, it gave them personality, character and motivations. It showed the warrior nature of the Elites and their almost Samuri like sense of honour.

I like the Brutes. However when they gave them regenerating power armour in Halo 3 it seemed like they were trying to hard to make them into Elites.

As I have stated numerous times: I like Halo as a series, however, Halo 3 was a let down. I tried giving it another chance with ODST and they clearly haven't learnt anything from all their mistakes and so no, I have no intention of getting it.

Meh. A good Halo game hasn't been made since the original.
Agreed to a point. Halo 2's multiplayer was better than the first if only because it was available online. The story/campaign I most certainly agree went horrifically downhill since the first.

Also, nice avatar.
