So, imagine this as a situation. You walk into your favourite restaurant, sit down at the table and look at the menu. After looking at it for a while, the waiter comes over and tells you about the specials. One of them is a pig, genetically modified to want to be eaten. She is even trotted out in front of you, while she tells you her best cuts, her recommendations for how she should be eaten and her lifelong desire to be eaten. The other option on the specials is a genetically modified chicken, who was born to be brain dead. It feels no pain, has no emotion or feelings and only knows how to eat, sleep and drink. So, which choice would you pick?

PS: If anyone can name the book this is from, a virtual biscuit will be yours. And I might put up other dilemmas but let's see.

Pig

It wants to be eaten, and who's gonna choose chicken over bacon?

both, obviously. you order the chicken for yourself and the pork for the rest of the table/as many people as possible. or you get the pork and gift the chicken.
also, click my shiny new button. it made writing this living hell.

I don't see the Moral Dilemma. If they are not infectious then I don't really care.

pig,
any animal that you can confirm wants to be eaten deserves to be in my belly!

Both, combined together in something in the style of epic mealtime.
If I can personally justify eating meat from animals that do have thoughts and that don't want to be eaten, this is a no-contest.

Nice Douglas Adams reference going on there. Internet cookies for me!

OT: Being a vegetarian already my choice is pretty easy.

See, I'm finding it difficult to decide. Not because of a moral quandary, but because I really like chicken and I really like bacon!

I suppose in terms of the question, I'd probably go for the pig, since it actively wants to be eaten.

That, yeah I'd go with the pig. In regards to the book, you wouldn't be referencing Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy by any chance?

Not much of a dilemma for me I'm affraid. I'll have some of both, but if I had to pick only one it would be the pig. Who am I to contradict a pig that *wants* to be eaten? Besides, pigs are much tastier than chicken.

Give some bacon, damnit!

Hell, there is no moral dilemma here, just tasty food either way.

I have a policy: I don't eat anything that has ever spoken to me.

And I doubt I'd be in the mood for chicken. So I'd get something without meat.

Has to be the pig.

After it's gone through the trouble of explaining the best cuts and how it wants to be eaten then it would be rude not to.
