if it was breakfast or lunch the pig, if it was dinner the chicken

and why is this a 'moral' dilemma?

Both. My favorite restaurant does stir-fry. A little pork, a little chicken, some noodles, bean sprouts, and teriyaki. Mmmm. I'd ask if they had any beef, though.

Well, the pig is clearly given human traits and emotions being able to think and speak, so I'd have the chicken please.

I'm not that fond of pork in any case.

I'd take the chicken, mostly because the pig would creep me out slightly. It's like when Yes Man cheerfully asks if you want to murder him again. It's just unsettling.

I'd have a salad, and start a campaign to stop meat companies from psychologically manipulating animals.

There is a moral dilemma here?

Fry the pig into crispy bacon, and give the chicken to Swiss Chalet so they can serve it to me with that awesome Chalet Sauce. I couldn't give a fuck less if they talk, I'm hungry.

What's up with the genetically modified food?Isn't normal meat good enough for you?
Do you eat banana's, sir? Banana's as they exist today have been genetically modified through the ages to take on the yellow color they have, no less.

Genetically modified in terms of food products are very much a normal thing to come across. Don't let media sensationalism and vegetarians misguide you otherwise, they have their biases and their ratings to influence them.

So, imagine this as a situation. You walk into your favourite restaurant, sit down at the table and look at the menu. After looking at it for a while, the waiter comes over and tells you about the specials. One of them is a pig, genetically modified to want to be eaten. She is even trotted out in front of you, while she tells you her best cuts, her recommendations for how she should be eaten and her lifelong desire to be eaten. The other option on the specials is a genetically modified chicken, who was born to be brain dead. It feels no pain, has no emotion or feelings and only knows how to eat, sleep and drink. So, which choice would you pick?

PS: If anyone can name the book this is from, a virtual biscuit will be yours. And I might put up other dilemmas but let's see.
The Resaurant at the End of the Universe, and the pig, because it is more delicous and wants me to enjoy it.
