I voted Lamb of God because of their guitarists. I hate the drummer, though.
I know I'm basically walking into the crossfire of hundreds, but I'm dissapointed in this list as a whole. Pretty much all of them are mainstream.. REALLY mainstream.. whatever happened to giving the more underground bands some love?

You can't possibly call this a list of headbanging music.
Nearly all the bands named aren't even remotely close to headbangin.
Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, Trivium, Dream Theater, and Pantera need to be there.
Revise this list and repost this thread, because IMO NONE of those bands are truly worthy to be known as headbanging bands.

Oh my god! What is wrong with metal fans these days. Don't you know anything. Metal is a bond. Metal is a family. Why do you not consider Slipknot and Korn metal? Why isn't Nu Metal metal? Metal is heavy. Metal is angry. Metal has an aggression. There are so many forms of metal out their. Metal is what you make it and I know I won't change anyones minds here. But stop trying to discriminate against bands. You may not like it but just because Slipknot has gotten on MTV doesn't mean they aren't metal. Look at they're first album. If that isn't metal than I don't know what is. So go ahead everybody. Go ahead and tell me the bands you hate: DragonForce, Slipknot, Korn, AC/DC. Whatever. But they are metal and you need to accept it. Be a true metal head and love METAL. LOVE IT ALL. BE A REAL FAN! It's people like you who are going to let heavy metal die. Just stop it. Also here's who should have been on the list.

The op probably can't relate to the music in anyway so missed bands that were before his generation. It's like asking why someone doesn't consider 60's peace rock as their favorite type of music, a lot of it has aged or just doesn't connect.dnnydllr said:
In Flames or Dimmu Borgir. COB from this list of mostly n00b metal (get it? nu metal, noob metal? lame I know). And as much of sellouts as they are, Metallica belong on any list of anything vaguely related to metal.
